We have a larger split firewood stack for winter. We use a 40 x 40 tarp to cover it usually all four sides of the tarp are between 6 inches to a foot off the ground, we use climbing rope through all the eyelets and stake it in 6 places on all four sides. We have very soft soil and 12-inch-long stakes would pull out of the ground in strong winds we switched to 17-inch-long stakes that helped but they would still back out 4 to 6 inches. With the 24-inch stakes we have had 2 days of strong winds with gusts, and these have not backed out at all. Happy so far. ... show more

This hooked rebar has sharp chiseled ends, sharper than most I've seen. This makes it so much easier to pound down into the ground. It takes no time at all. I'm using these to set the sides of galvanized raised beds in position. Love that someone thought to add a hook on the end of rebar! It also gives a larger surface to hit when pounding in. These are pretty much the size they claim them to be. The points look sharp and should go into the ground easily. These are pretty thick and strong. These are 3/8in vs. 1/4in like others out there. That extra 1/8in can make a big difference. There is that black coating that gets all over your hands. I was able to wipe most of it off like they said I could. I haven’t had a chance to really use these yet, but I don’t see it not working. I got them to help secure large potted trees that tend to fall over when the days the wind blows really hard. I left one outside to see how well it remains rust resistant. I get the feeling these will eventually rust, but that doesn’t mean they will lose their effectiveness of holding things down.
