  • Helpful tool to have.
Style: Pocket-Sized
I have not used any other thermal cameras, so I don't have anything to compare it to. But I like the fact that it can go in a pocket when I'm not using it. It has good picture. And a bigger screen than some of the other cameras. It takes a few seconds to come on, which is a little annoying. And the auto shut off feature seems to shut off even when it's being used. And it seems very expensive to me for what it is, but all thermal cameras seem to be high priced. It was very helpful when I toured a property recently...it showed cold spots in the insulation. Overall, I like it. ... show more

  • This Camera is The Best of Its Class, My Review Barely Addresses That
Style: Pocket-Sized
I have wanted one of these since the first new I watched the playback of a US Army AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter gun video which showcased how rad a capability this is. For me, I use it for 50% fun/ curious/ impress hot chicks and 50% for practical reasons. I own rental property and will use it in the winter to identify where my properties are losing heat due to poor insulation. When they were first introduced and throughout the years, I had always looked a at two units offered in the market which you use by attaching to your cell phone. I never felt compelled to pull the trigger and purchase either for a number of reasons involving how I perceived the value (or lack there of) they represented. Plus, I have a couple of those tools that are designed to rely on your smartphone in some way in order to function. While my experiences aren't all negative and they do work as designed, I find them to be annoyingly cumbersome to pair, configure, and in some cases attach the phone physically to the device. Here's the deal, when I'm working on a project and I need a tool, the last thing I want to do is pull my phone or I of its case, dog or the little module that needs to be connected, and so on and so on. We live in a day and age where the tiny screens used in our phones and electronics are mass produced, sold like commodities, and cost very little. Put a screen on your product. And that's what these guys did. For the peice, you will NOT find anything even close to the resolution, the material qualities, the precise fit and finish, or the features available. Worth every cent ... show more

  • It works
Style: Pocket-Sized
Build quality is not that great. Screen resolution is quite poor. But it works. Picture-in-picture kind of work, but don't expect high quality edge detection like Flir. The IR image resolution is ok. The IR accuracy is questionable as the temp reading in one spot keep changing when I pan the unit around. Overall it works good enough to identify cold/hot spot or temp different in the image. If you absolutely need accurate temp reading you should get Flir. ... show more

  • Crude Oil Tanks, etc.
Style: Pocket-Sized
I was using an imager that cost $8000 before this. That one doesn’t have all that much on this one. You don’t have to pay that much to get results. It depends on what you are using it for. I’m using this to look inside crude oil tanks. I can see how full the tank is and the separation of the fluids (sediment, water, interface, oil, condensate). This saves countless hours of running up the catwalks. It won’t work on Aluminum coated tanks or insulated tanks. Also I can see inside hydraulic reservoirs and fuel tanks. I can see whether electrical connections are soldered correctly. I can see inside the oil tank manifolds to see if fluid is moving in the right direction. My boss took one look through it and said “Yeah, we can make money with this” and then handed it back to me. ... show more

  • Impressive for the price
Style: Pocket-Sized
I've been eyeing thermal cameras for awhile, after watching video reviews including teardown; I decided to try this product. I was a bit nervous about the price for a brand that I'm not familiar with but the resolution seemed to be comparable to the bigger names but at a huge savings. I intend to use the camera for DIY projects and mainly just as a cool gadget. 1 day into using the unit I'm very happy with the image quality especially at the price point. My biggest concern was the overall components used, but the teardown points to SEEK as the board supplier so the product seems pretty solid. We'll see how long the battery pack holds out based on reviews. ... show more

  • Poor reliability and buggy firmware. No warranty, no customer service
Style: Pocket-Sized
Poor engineering and quality. If the camera idle too long and goes to auto shutdown, it will not boot up again. The camera could randomly stuck at boot image forever. The camera also goes into certain state randomly that how ever long you push and hold the power button, the screen won’t turn on. It also has a state that the screen backlight is on but no display whatsoever, no response to any button pressing. Bought it less than a year, used less than 5 times. Now it is a paper weight. Also be aware that this company does not provide any customer service. If your purchase broken within their warranty, you cannot find how to contact their customer service. None of the contact information listed on their web page work. ... show more

  • Pretty awesome infrared technology
Style: Pocket-Sized
Man I hate to say it, but for $400 this is a nice unit. Decent resolution, not great. Infrared pickup unit seems pretty sensitive too, it can see where you were standing or sitting in a chair for quite a few minutes afterwards. I use it to find hotspots in my greenhouses and mannnnn let me tell you this tool is invaluable. If you’re on the fence about buying , just do it. As soon as you get this thing in your hand and start using it you’ll be flooded with ideas for things this would be useful for. And it it turns out to not be as nice of a unit as what you need, return it, it’s a prime item! ... show more

  • Bigfoot caught on thermal imager: HT-A1
Style: Pocket-Sized
Bigfoot on imaging. Love the product for the price. The distance I captured the thermal image of Bigfoot approximately 30ft 45° in tree stand watching a trail. Corner feed on ground, no deer for some reason, squirrels acting act then quieted. Didn't get a smell but got a couple of images. Images says two but we're walking side by side then both behind same tree. Cons- Although I got a great image of one of the bigfoots I would always want to see a little more detail if the face.- Needs more distance and further but also clear imaging. ... show more
