Easy to assemble in about an hour. All the pieces for the frame were labeled and instruction steps were simple to follow. It comes with everything you need to assemble, so no extra tools are necessary. Just remember to add the height of your mattress to the frame high. The bed frame was a bit confusing until we figured it out. It did take some time fitting the bars across each side. I reviewed all the bed frames before I bought one. This one had some bars that were automatically in the right spot. All the rest had to be lined up and pushed into to tight slots.
