I bought these for an apartment I’ll be in for a year while I work in another location, so I didn’t want anything expensive but still wanted a heavier set of silverware that were not dainty feeling. These are great. Heavy and nice modern, sleek look. They wash up nice - I have not noticed any rusting or discoloration when they go thru the dishwasher or sit dirty for a bit before being washed. These are adult sized, meaning they are full sized. The dinner fork is big like a dinner fork should be. The soup spoon and dinner/butter knife is likewise full sized. Like they should be. The feel in your hand is good. Medium thickness. Not fat like some higher sets, but not too think like some cheap sets either. A nice medium. They feel very comfortable. The look is good. It's a nice unpretentious look. Modern. Honest. Because these are full sized flatware, you have good control moving food around your plate and manipulating fine items as well. This is not a high level expensive formal set. It's not. But that's ok. This is a really good daily use set. Very good quality, all pieces stamped and formed very well, no rough edges, the dinner/butter knife can handle a decent cut of steak. This set was made by machines which probably also make higher end sets which is good. Consider this is not a Lexus. It is a Toyota. But it performs like sets much more expensive. It is a nice respectable flatware set, and at 40 pieces, an INCREDIBLE VALUE! I would be proud to give this as a wedding gift, or to use myself. My rating is not a reflection on quality. This set has high quality. My rating reflects only that higher end sets are usually fatter, with more 'feel' on the handles and more detailed stamping. Despite buying a complete set for 8 when I moved into my new place a couple years ago, I found myself missing about 5 forks, 8 spoons and a knife... setting a table for 4 required at least a little searching. It was time for a restart and this set was a great decision! It's held up well to daily use and the dishwasher, and is sturdy enough to not bend when I try to scoop rock hard ice cream. Simple, attractive design at an affordable price. Sturdy enough to resist bending, and to feel like you have something durable in your hands. Being accustomed to hollow handle table knives, these solid handle knives feel a bit thin — but they are certainly acceptable and have a decent heft. So far, so good. Unfortunately, I don’t know quite what to say about the sizes of these utensils, except that I can’t use them to replace my current flatware as a set. Basically, they are just enormous (see photo). The small fork is just a little smaller than a conventional dinner fork. The small spoon is about the size of a conventional tablespoon. The large fork and spoon are proportioned suitably for cooking and serving, not eating. Literally, they are a full inch longer than my dinner forks and tablespoons, and wider to match. Wow! The knife is the only item in the set which I consider properly sized. Be aware that the knives are sharp — with serrated open gullet cut teeth like a saw! Not tomato sharp, but mess up your fingers if inattentive in the sink and keep away from small children sharp. I found the handle corners — except for the knives — to be a bit sharper than necessary for comfort and control. I would go maybe 3-1/2 stars on this flatware if I could, because it is sturdy, attractive, and a good value. Might be just what you want if you can deal with the peculiar size. I will not be able to use it as hoped, to replace my worn out everyday table settings. ... show more

I was so suprised when opening these sets of silverware. To my suprise they are very durable and solid! I like them alot because they will be lasting us a very long time because of the quality of them. I'm so happy that I own some. They're very very hefty and fancy at the same time! They are perfect for my rough family. I will definitely be purchasing some for my mother and grandmother because these will make the perfect Christmas gift! They are very lovely!     • Impressive quality for the price
Size: 40-Piece
This is a 40 piece set (8 place settings) of stainless steel flatware from Hikaa. My preference is definitely less ornate flatware with clean lines, so when I saw this nicely shaped set I decided to order it. It arrived in a nice white/grey/black box, with each piece individually wrapped, and each type of piece rubber banded together (i.e. dinner forks all banded together, etc.). The pieces have a good polished finish without blemishes or discoloration. I did notice the bottom edges of the handles did not seem to be quite as polished, but aside from that every piece was perfect, and you can only see the bottom edges of the handles if you really set out to look at them. The pieces have a good weight to them and feel balanced. I ran them through the dishwasher and they came out perfectly. They are sturdy and very well made. At the time I'm writing this, the 40 piece set is $32.99, and it's also got a coupon. I think this is a remarkable price for such an attractive, well made set. ... show more
