  • Best starter dual sport bike for the money.
I stumbled upon this after watching YouTube. These motors can take a lot of abuse, these bikes are common in other parts of the world outside the US and have finally met regulations to be sold here again. For the money it is hands down the best option available. Assembly was fairly easy, look for videos on YouTube if you need help. The oil that comes in it is garbage, use better break-in oil. It rides fantastic and was able to register the bike pretty easy in PA. Manufacturer provides excellent support (American Lifan). Contact them directly if you have any issues, they go out of their way to ensure you have a great working product. 10/10 would buy again in a heartbeat! It started right up, is brand new, and got me riding immediately. ... show more

  • Great for the price!
Nice little bike. It cost me about $2700 after shipping, title, registration, and all the other required things. The instructions are terrible but watch some online videos and you should be fine. Couple tips: -Look up the titling requirements for your state ahead of time. The required documentation came about a week after the bike arrived so it won’t be street legal until you get the DMV stuff taken care of. -change the oil as soon as you get it out together. -buy a good torque wrench and check all the bolts. -check and fill the tires. ... show more

  • Runs great (So far)
Great bike for the money. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating was the throttle was reversed out of the box. Tried to get instructions on how to correct with no avail. I took it apart and fixed on my own.

  • Yeah buddy
Have plenty of bikes in the fleet but was feeling frisky and wanted to get something for my dad for Father's day. Came shipped on a short semi. Quick delivery. Great communication from seller. Easy to piece together. Enough shipping metal around it to one protect it and two build a go kart frame with. Runs great. Valves were set correct on arrival. Make sure to drain and put real oil in bike before first use. ... show more

  • Great bike. Lots of fun and the price is perfect
Once ordered I received the bike within a week and was very pleased with the packaging. I initially had some issues getting it to start because of an apparent shortage, but once I got it fixed it started right up and I’ve had no problems.. I would like to see more information on the bike (there are very few videos on YouTube) but overall I like the bike. It is my first bike and 400 miles later I’m happy with it. ... show more

  • For me it was a below average bike.
I planned on making a review when I had gotten it above 5k miles. I was going to write about how long stock things on this bike would last from my riding experience ( Like the tread wear and brake pad wear with how I ride). The reason why I made a 2 star review: At 4k miles the engine died. I recently adjusted my valves for the second time and I did the oil change earlier today. The reason why I believed the engine blew was for the fact that at the 300 mile mark I had the check engine light on. I didn't take it anywhere to have it looked at, I just wanted to know how long the bike would last out of the box. I hoped to get at least 10k miles out of the bike. Could my bike have lasted longer if I did, I'd be willing to say yes. If you bought the bike would it last longer than my bike? I would say yes if you follow the maintenance schedule . If you buy this bike and have the CEL light on, you should immediately message the seller, I have messaged them twice about the bike and they have gotten back to me in a timely matter. My riding experience was extremely harsh, I've basically red lined this bike for a vast majority of its life, I would have it at 7k rpms above 50mph. I've never took the bike off the road, my commute was 22 miles one way, I would ride this bike basically to and from work. I've gotten the bike up to 72 mph downhill dozens of times within around 3600 miles. Recently I've been taking my bike on the highway, I know other people that review this bike say NOT to, but I have put around 200 miles on roads above 55mph. I have gotten the bike up to 70mph according to the Tachometer, and at 60mph according to 2 other people I ride with, we all had the same speed. According to google maps however, when I was doing 64mph on the highway I was doing 60mph. Basically the only way you do 70 mph is if you weigh around 150LBS like I do, no wind, ducking really far down and you're drafting. If you aren't drafting you'll be doing around 66. If its a slight incline you'll basically be doing 60mph. at 70mph you're doing 9k rpms, I'm going to say that's probably not the best for the bike. I've absolutely thrashed this bike, I really don't think anyone in that's made reviews about this bike on the road have beat this bike like I have. I can't comment about taking it off road, so read other reviews if its not going to be a pavement princess. My first issues with the bike is like it would bog down from 55mph and if I didn't let go of the throttle or down shift, it would just drastically lose speed, I would lurch forward. That issues is probably what my cel light came on. A week ago my bike would just stall in neutral, and it really didn't want to turn over the 3rd time it happened. When my engine blew up, all the oil sprayed everywhere, when I walked it 3 miles to my house I looked at the exhaust to see if oil came out and it didn't. I'm in no way a mechanic so this is basically a review from a below average semi retarded person. All I wanted to see was how long the bike would last from not having mechanical experience. All I did in around my 4,000 mile ownership of the bike was oil changes, 2 valve adjustments and tighten my chain to near spec. I have never looked at the air filter, or did anything else. Would I recommend the bike? I wouldn't recommend the fuel injected model, if you can get this bike with a carburetor you should get that. You can basically buy another engine for around $500, but I have no clue how that works with the fuel injected model. If you buy the hawk with the carb you could replace the engine yourself for cheap. I don't think this is a bad bike but a average bike, my experience with the bike was below average, which is why I rated it a 2/5. If my bike didn't have problems I'd have liked to make a few videos and a longer more in detail review. At that point it could have been a 3 or 4 star review, which isn't bad I just think its an average bike. I would like to say that the bike isn't very fast, but after everything with tax and title I payed around $2,800. I have bought a Honda Navi and after tax and title it was around $2450. I have only put 500 miles on it so far, but I do like the Lifan more than that. If you're going up an extremely steep hill this bike will do 54mph, the Navi will drop down to 35mph. The ride quality of the bike is much better than the Navi, and with wind above 20mph on this bike you won't be shifted around as much as the Navi. ... show more

  • Defective ECU
Purchased the bike March 2021, but hardly got to use it. Fired it up with 84 miles June 2023 via kickstart because the battery was dead. It started right away :). I left it running for 15 minutes to let the battery charge. Turned it off and started it with the electric starter with no issues. I turned it off to do other stuff around the yard and decided to take my son for a spin around the neighbor hood an hour later, but it would not start. I tried kick starting it with no success either. Bike gets fuel via the pump and has spark but it's not sending signal to open the injector. I ordered an injector tester from amazon and the injector tested perfectly fine. Had facetime call with support and they determined that the computer(ECU) is bad or some other fuel injection component but since I'm passed the warranty period, the bike is old, the manufacture probably do not have any part in stock for it, and that it would take months to get a replacement ECU, etc. i'm pretty much being told too bad and good luck. Anyway... I'm out 2k on a bike that I only put 84 miles on that was stored in a dry area and covered up since owned. Seller said they would reach out the the vendor but didn't give much assurance that my bike would be fixed anytime soon... hopefully things work out for the best in the end and they have the part they can send or that I can at least buy. ... show more
