These Walkie Talkies are great! They are advertised for kids, but they are built well and have great options such as 22 main channels and 121 privacy codes and can be used by adults as well as kids. I can’t speak to the distance as the kids use them within a few block radius, but they work well and the kids love them. I was so impressed with these walkie talkies I actually purchased a second pair so the kids weren’t fighting over them! A couple of things to be aware of: The walkie talkies do not come with any batteries or cables. It uses standard AA batteries (3 each) or can use rechargeable batteries. If using rechargeable batteries you will need a USB-A to Micro-B Cable, rechargeable batteries, and a wall charging plug for the cables. You can plug the cable into the bottom of the walkie talkies to charge them. The manual is a little vague about the rechargeable batteries, it references “Just for batteries and adapter package option” so I was unsure if the walkies required a special battery pack and charger or if rechargeable batteries and cable would work. I tried the cable and rechargeable batteries and they work fine. These are a good value and solidly built!! ... show more

I bought these as a gift for my kids for Christmas so they can each have one and I can have one when they go outside to play. My kids are 6 and 11 yrs old and they can both use them. My 6 yr old struggles holding the button down the entire time he is talking so he cuts out a lot but there is a feature that we use with him sometimes that it just picks up anytime he starts talking but sometimes he forgets and all we hear is him talking to himself while playing in the woods but it is a cool feature for hands free walkie talkie needs. I liked the 3 different colors and it also came with 3 different colored lanyards to attach to them and they can easily detach with a button from the lanyards which was pretty cool, so far my kids have not broken the lanyards and they are still attached but we have lost one so the 3rd lanyard is not in the picture but it was orange. They do have clips on the back of the walkie talkie to attach to your pants or overalls too. It did come with a user guide which helps because there are different features you can turn on and off. My kids and I have been able to use it with out using the guide a lot so it is rather simple to use if you have used walkie talkies before but the guide is nice to have. So far the battery life has been good. We do power them off when we are not using them but we have used them 4 times and probably a total of 2.5 hours and we have not charged them yet but will need to soon. It does come with one charger for all 3 but it can charge all 3 at one time so the triple charger was nice but you just need a micro usb charger for it. It does have a headphone port on the bottom of each walkie-talkie. I am happy with the purchase so far definitely better then other "kid friendly" walkie talkies we have purchased because I really wanted them to have good range. My kids have taken them about 200 yards into the woods with no problem so far. ***Update the lanyards broke... They were plastic and some the coated plastic to look like metal but they have all broken at this point. -see picture- walkie talkies are still going strong though ... show more

Absolutely love these little Walkie talkies! We bought these for the grandkids and they are gonna love them! We tested them out and they worked from third floor to the basement! We could hear each speaking clearly! Cool colors and they feel sturdy! Comes with rechargeable batteries and the usb charger! I am not sure about the life of the batteries bc we just opened them and have not used them long enough yet! I would recommend buying! ... show more

I used a walkie talkie many times during my 31 years as a Firefighter. Most walkie talkies are as about an east thing to operate, as they come. These, on the other hand, were very difficult to operate, forcing the operator to push two burtons to transmit. For a child this would be very difficult.
