I was hoping it would be a bit deeper so when the water level in the tank decreases the roots still have water. I have aquatic frogs in the tank as well, and cannot have the tank all the way full or they will jump out. However, I like how it came with 3 different sized hooks to fit the top of the tank- the medium size hooks fit PERFECTLY on the edge of my 20 gallon tank. I love these little boxes, they're so easy to assemble and great to use. If I had to add one quality of life feature, it would be to add a marker to find the matching hooks a little more easily. Even just A, B, C or something.
