I love this Watayo product although I was only able to discern slight differences in grit between blue and green. I have used both blocks on my feder and on my Hanwei Rhinelander bastard sword - seen in the photos, above. Both blades have some pretty significant burrs and the blocks did not suffice to remove them. Both blades were used when I got them and had some rust - the blocks cleaned up all but the most pitted rust spots - and rust removal is an ongoing thing with steel blades. I like that the gummy blocks polished the steel as opposed to scoring it as did the 3M block. Compared to a 3M 180 grit sanding block, the 3M product felt grittier than either the blue or the green gummy block and produced rougher looking results, but that was an apples to oranges comparison as the blocks are made for different purposes and vary in composition. Update: I tried the blocks out on my EDC knife that'd gotten scuffed and tape goo stuck on it from frequent use as a box-cutter, pry-bar, etc. Cleaned it up beautifully. Very pleased. ... show more

These abrasive stones are handy to have around, for skiing and cleaning edges of tools. In my photos, I show cleaning up the edge of one of my skis, and I used them for about 10 minutes. You can see the burrs are rolled off, and the flat sides are polished. As these don’t have an edge guide, I would not expect to rely on them for your primary sharpening system. For a quick clean, they are perfect. I only wish they were labeled for grit, but I used a sharpie for future reference. This is a nice small stone set, especially good for skis and snowboards, but handy also for any metal-edged tools. The fact that they are small means that they fit into the pocket easily and can be carried on the slopes for any small touch-up work just before a race. It would be good if the grits were marked on the stones, but I've had to mark grits on many of my other stones, so this is not an unusual drawback. Gumi stones are an important part of any ski tuning kit and this is a nice set that I'm pleased to have and recommend. ... show more

This is a great deal for 4 gummy stones, perfect for ski/snowboard tuning. It comes with two of each, coarse (60) and fine grit (120). Thankfully they're not the most abrasive but they do the job perfectly. This is a great addition to the ski tuning kit where maybe your gummy stones are worn out.
