  • Fits my Makita screw gun perfectly.
Color: Black
Much less money than the big box stores were asking for them. Totally compatible with my screw gun. Can't speak to either longevity or battery life at the moment although I'm happy with how long the charge seems to last so far.

  • Similar Performance to a Makita Battery But At a Much Lower Cost
As is the case with most Off-Branded Generic Products, they usually cost less than the product they replace. This is the case with these Replacement Batteries. Their cost is HALF of what you’ll pay for the Makita battery. My testing showed that the Replacement Batteries have very similar performance to those of the OEM. Given this, I can rate these as a “Recommended Purchase” (with a qualification). My testing procedure and results are listed below. You will see similar performance figures. HOWEVER…….. Rechargeable batteries can lose their runtime and capacity over time. The Makita Battery (BL1815) used for my comparison is a year old. To do a TRUE COMPARISON, I would need to run the same series of tests for the Replacement Battery after a year of use. This wasn’t possible for this review. Testing Details: The Replacement Batteries were tested against my year-old Makita BL1815. The tool I used to drain the battery was a Makita drill, model number BDF452. My tests used only one of the two batteries that are included with your purchase. The charger I used for charging was a Makita DC18RA. I used the same battery for all the testing. I ran each test 3 times for each battery to give me average runtimes and charging times. The batteries were run down all the way until they were completely dead. To prevent overheating of my drill, I paused 5 minutes twice during the runtime tests. Both a 1” wood drill bit and 3/8” by 4” lag bolts were used the testing. Drilling, Screwing and Unscrewing was done constantly. I was as precise as possible to eliminate any variables during testing. Runtime for the Replacement Battery averaged 18.5 minutes vs. 19.75 minutes for the Makita. Charging time averaged 22.25 minutes for the Replacement Battery and 28 minutes for the Makita battery. The discrepancies in individual charging times/runtimes for both batteries was less than a minute for each series of tests. The only physical difference between the batteries was the way the Replacement Batteries fit into the charger. The Makita battery clicked in easier and felt more secure. ... show more

  • Great Makita charger so far
I dropped a cinder block on our old Makita charger and just couldn't stomach the cost of a new one - this replacement unit does the trick for less than half the cost of the Makita. The status lights all work well, I have fun with the "ready" tone, and the build quality is on par with the Makita plastic bits. I've tried it with bonafide Makita batteries as well as off-brand ones at this point and they all seem to function normally. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • You can never have too many batteries!
You can never have too many batteries when it comes to power tools! I make sure my batteries are constantly charged, so they are available when it is needed. While I'm using one battery, I make sure there are at least 1 battery that is fully charged and 1 on the charger if it isn't full. That way I don't run the risk of running out of power mid way through a project. Batteries can get quite expensive, so these batteries are ideal at 2 batteries for under $40! Its hard to beat that deal and these batteries work great for my makita tools! ... show more

  • Works well for charging Makita 18V lithium batteries
This is a fine charger in that it charges Makita 18V lithium batteries. I tested it with two different 5AH 18V lithium batteries and it worked well. It seems to be a physically large charger for what it does (as in twice the size of a similar DeWalt 20V charger), so it will take up twice the bench or shelf space. It is however for all intents an exact copy of the actual Makita charger. The charger also plays cute little songs when a battery is inserted and again when the battery is fully charged. And as with the actual Makita brand charger, you can change or cycle through the tunes it plays, change to a simple beep, or even go silent by installing and removing the battery a few times. Cute. All in all this is a good value and fine charger. ... show more

  • Charges genuine and bootleg batteries fine but is lacking a fan
First off I gotta knock a star off for the lack of internal fan inside the charger. The charger has indicator lights for a fan but there isn't one inside the unit. Other than that the charger has been working fine for the past few weeks. It will charge genuine and bootleg batteries just fine. There is some level of smartness baked into the charger since it will refuse to charge hot batteries right off the tool and won't initiate charging until the battery cools. ... show more

  • can't tell the difference
seems every bit is good as my actual mikita charger, takes the same time to charge the batteries, no issues so far.

  • NOT compatible with Makita DC18RC charger
Color: Black
Despite product info saying these batteries are compatible with Makita 18V chargers, they are not. I tried both batteries and both chargers that I have and the charging light flashes alternately in green and red color indicating that charging is not possible. I returned these batteries.
