So far these have been a great conversion from the HID bulbs we had. I don't recall the wattage of the HID but I will update the review when I replace the next batch. I think they were 300 watts. These bulbs are working well, and I don't hear any fan noise from them. The only drawback is that these are longer than the HID bulbs and so the patttern is a little different and they are wider dispersion, which makes them ' in your eyes' more than the old HID. Color is good. Very bright, brighter than the old HID. Instant on/off, not heating or restart delay. The first two 100w have been installed for about a month with no issues. I oredered 2 more of the same 100w size, and 2 of the 80w size to see if those are better for us. Those were on Amazon in a pack of 4, 2 of the 100w and 2 of the 80 at a good price. ... show more

So far, so good. Light has only been in the fixture for a week but it was an easy replacement (if you don't mind being 20 feet up a ladder), it's extremely bright, and being an LED the energy usage should be substantially less than the mercury vapor bulb it replaced. Time will tell if it's lasts as long as it's rated life- that's why I didn't put a rating on longevity. ... show more
