I have purchased 6 of these thus far. I have placed them in both of the showers in my house. They are heavy duty and when properly installed will safely hold a great deal of weight. I installed mine directly into wall studs, so they are very firmly secured. Having said that, I would not at all be comfortable with the wall fasteners supplied with the bar, as they are designed for general installations that would not have a wall stud available to anchor into. ... show more

The grip bar were pretty much as described. What I found lacking was the installation instructions and the size of the screws provided to mount the bars. I up graded the screws to a 2 inch size 9 treated screw. The chrome finish on the bar was nice, but I wonder if a matte finish would make one's grip more secure? ... show more

Disliked the small screws to hold in place. We replaced with 4 inch screws. Very secure. No concerns of gripping bars and have them pull loose. I would recommend longer screws, safety issues. I recently broke my knee. We had entrance from garage to kitchen, with one step. Wanting to get outside safely we put these bars on side wall in garage. A blessing. I can get outside safely. We did have a ramp in front of house, literally a royal pain. Always needing help. With the use of back door, I can safely get in and out with assistance. I’m Happy. ... show more

Bars come with stainless steel screws and plugs for installation in drywall if you cannot find a stud or wood. The screws I got were "soft" and my cross point/phillips bit kept gouging out the grooves and I could not drive or remove the screws, had to use pliers. My bit was new and good quality, and I drilled pilot holes. This is not the first time I have had problems with SS screws, and I believe some of just of lesser quality. Do yourself a favor, get a box of good quality SS screws before starting out. AND, be sure to have a carbide bit to get through tile. ... show more

As a lifetime machinist I have a pretty good idea what Im talking about when it comes to designing something. while this grab bar does the job its designed for it has room for improvement. It says concealed hardware but the way they are concealed is from a stamped metal cap that slides over the anchor plate you bolt to the ends of the bar. the caps do NOT stay in place. simply a poor design. While a little more expensive, there are better choices on Amazon. Such as the 1.5 dia SS amazon basics grab bar. ... show more

These seemed to flimsy to support weight of 185 pound man who can only bear weight on one foot. Installation hardware also seemed too lightweight for shower wall.

Was a little worried when I saw that the mounting plates are bolted to the bar rather than welded, and the bar felt a little thin, but once mounted, it quite sturdy and has a nice finish. A lot less expensive than similar items and this style and size is hard to find in retail stores.
