The pandemic made me do it. Since being transitioned to remote work, I spend a lot of time staring at the window/blinds in my home office during soul-crushing conference calls. The old blinds were functional - 20yr old basic 1" mini blinds with a cord that my feline house masters liked to attack. One day, during a work call, I realized that maybe new blinds would upgrade my room and make me ... happier? I always thought I had standard, basic ol' windows in my basic ol' house. I could just go to {insert giant retail store here} and pick up new blinds. Umm, nope. I guess 30" width windows are "custom"?!? Anyway, once I realized I was going to have to ORDER the fancy new window treatments that would change my life, I decided I should also order blinds for the big ol' window in another room. 62" and 30" widths should've been easy to find online at {insert retail hardware store here}. Right?!? Wrong. Once I did find blinds to maybe fit my windows, I realized there were plenty of other options out there to bring happiness without killing my wallet. On the brink of (overly dramatic) despair, I turned to Amazon. I figured it would be somewhat easy to find the blinds in the size, style, and color I envisioned. Umm, wrong again. The pursuit of happiness sure is challenging. But, I found Lumino eventually. And wow!! I found exactly what I needed - for both windows. Less expensive than the offerings at {insert those hardware retail stores}! The blinds arrived days before they were expected, and were super easy to stall. I didn't realize until they were delivered they are cordless, which is nice surprise! They were very easy to install and appear quite sturdy. To raise up you simply push from bottom, to lower. Pull down from bottom. The slat adjuster is smooth and easy to use as well. They are plastic, but look high quality. The only negative is the rail cover is impossible to install, but no big deal as curtains will cover it anyway. Five stars all the way! ... show more

    • Darkens the room nicely

Pluses are: Room darkening, heavier (than mini-blinds) slats plus the top piece and slants fit perfectly in an inside installation with one qualification. Once installed they work very well. Minus: Fit and trim - one of the take up strings was not centered in the wind up spool and jammed between the spool and the housing. Not only did this make the blinds slanted to one side but could have cause the string to break. The bottom piece was cut the same width as the slats which with a 1/4" clearance on each side did not allow the installation of the end caps. The clips that hold the valance in place were too tight and had to be forced over the blind top so instead of snapping the assembled valance in place, I had to pre-install the clips and slide the valance into place. Therefore installation took much longer than expected. Evenso I would purchase again if I had a need to. ... show more

We purchased these blinds for our large front windows. They looked really nice when we took them out of the box, and they seemed to be decent quality. Unfortunately, once we hung them we saw that some of the connecting strings were broken, and the stick to open the blinds broke after a week.
