  • I have both this ("Blue") and the "Snail" versions ... Just buy it!
Color: 2.4 ghz
Posted here as well as on the "Snail" version page because this review applies to both; read on to see why: I admit, I got the "Snail" version on sale for $28.99 ... That said, I'm a HUGE user of the Ammoon 5.8ghz model ... In fact, I have 2 of them and swear by them ... These are a very close second ... I can use them on my electronic drums as well as my keyboards with no obvious loss of frequency, signal loss, gain loss, or any other problems with any instrument ... For guitar, they are just as great a sound as a quality cable; no question ... I've yet to run into the 2.4ghz "interference" that most of these systems seem to have that the 5.8ghz are not really prone to (I'll update if that happens) ... The battery on this one (seemingly) lasts longer than the Ammoon ... I'll update with a more exact timeframe later ... For reference, I typically get about 4.5-5 solid hours from the Aamoon .... (To recap, I only have the "Snail" version, but I think the difference is cosmetic, not functional) ... UPDATE: 5/14/22: I used it in a professional environment for about 3 hours (give or take) and then decided to push it further ... I attached it to my PA system and fed music through it (it actually does pretty well with this application) and played it until it finally died ... This took about 10 hours, 44 minutes ... So, we'll round off last night to 3 hours, and we'll safely say 10.5 hours today ... I got approximately 13-14 hours out of THE TRANSMITTER (on a wireless rated for 10 hours) ... The receiver is still as green as can be ... (I'll leave that on overnight and see if it's still on in the morning; receivers last far longer than transmitters for obvious reasons) ... For the record, the sound from this last night was OUTSTANDING with guitar and/or music/vocal in general at high volumes ... I'm QUITE impressed with this (especially for the price) ... 10 out of 10 rating from me; hands down! ... My next update will be general longevity since I plan to use the living hell out of this thing (and buy at least one more while it's still at this pricepoint) ... SECOND UPDATE: 5/15/22: The RECEIVER lasted another 3.5 hours (and I just shut it off) ..... 13-14 hours with the transmitter, +3.5 with the receiver (blinking, probably good for another 2-3+ hours; I went to bed and put them both on the charger)=about 16 or so hours on the receiver .... Either way, good performance ... Your mileage may vary .... (Remember, I did this under "extreme circumstances"; you may have different results) .... Additionally, I'll add I still didn't get any interference whatsoever; I tried to get some ... ... TL/DR: My review works for both "Blue" and "Snail" as I've found them to be the same, only cosmetically different by casing only (I bought the "Blue" via a sale on a later date after I bought the "Snail") ... For the price, it's worth it for guitar as well as a variety of instruments and applications .... ... show more

  • Great value
Color: 2.4 ghz
I got these for my daughter for Christmas. My son has one that cost $100 more than these and you can't tell a difference. They sound great, have good range, and good battery life.

  • Way Better Than a Cable
Color: 5.8 ghz
It works really well as long as the receiver and transmitter can see each other. If you turn away and your body blocks the line of sight, it will garble a little. Well worth the money though. The battery lasts almost the entire day. No delay (latency) to speak of. One thing they could easily do to improve it would be to make it easier to read the "transmitter" and "receiver" labels. The light blue against white makes it difficult to read. I was bummed when I had to go back to the cable after not remembering to charge it. ... show more

  • Great little wireless transmitter and receiver
Color: 2.4 ghz
I loved these wireless transmitter for my guitar. No more tangled patch cords to trip over. I bought these to replace an identical set that suddenly went bad. They still work but for only about 30 minutes or so per charge. I’ve had them a little over a year and would use them almost daily. They were still lasting for several hours at a time and suddenly started flaking out. Even so, at $30/pair I’m willing to buy a new set every year. The problem with all these rechargeable devices is the relatively short life span of the built in rechargeable batteries. Eventually they’ll stop working and it’s difficult or impossible to replace the batteries. So they’re all essentially disposables. I would never pay the big bucks (over $150) that I see advertised with high end ones. They will all stop holding their charge at some point. $30 is right up my alley and these were the nicest ones I’ve owned to date. ... show more

  • Freedom! I cut the chord!
Color: 2.4 ghz
Its great to be free of 20' of cable! No more having the dog tangling himself in the cable and then my uke crashes off its stand! No more rolling up cable knowing I may be damaging wires, or worse yet, with my mobility issues, taking a step in the wrong direction (and tangling myself in the cable) and down I go! This system is simple! Turn on power to each unit. Put one transmitter in the receptacle on my electric/acoustic Fender Rincon ukulele and one transmitter into the Jack on my amp. Press sync buttons on each transmitter. I'm done! No waiting for sync like to happen, unlike when my gaming console seeks its hand set! The transmitters sync in the blink of an eye! The transmitters are very light. I'm playing uke, so I notice anything heavier than a light strap. I don't notice these, and I checked the balance of my tenor uke with the transmitter plugged in. It did not become 'tail heavy'. My transmitters arrived in a nice box with ample padding/protection. There is no way for them to come loose from their protective foam holders and get damaged. The charging cable stores under the protective foam. I've had my wireless system for 3 weeks. I don't practice for hours on end but do practice daily and have yet to need to charge the transmitters. I like that they both charge together on one cable, using only one USB slot. I have not heard any change in sound quality from using the cable to going wireless. I'm the first to admit that I'm not a pro musician. The biggest stage I will ever play my ukulele on is a gazebo in a park or a dining area in a LTC facility, so I don't know a lot about technology. But I know what works, for me, and these do. Now I'm off to plug in my uke in my living room and enjoy playing sans cables! Wireless is the way to go and these transmitters do the job nicely! ... show more
