Package Content 2.13inch e-Paper HAT x1 RPi screws pack (2pcs) x1 PH2.0 20cm x1 Version 2 and Version 3 Attention: Due to the chip upgrade, the 2.13inch e-Paper V2 (only raw panel) will be upgraded to the 2.13inch e-Paper (only raw panel)V3 version. Old and new demos are not compatible. Compared with the V2 version, the V3 version is compatible with other appearances and functions except for the chip and driver. For the regulart customers, if you need to purchase a new screen, please pay attention to the update program. For the new customer,if you purchase for the first time, there is a V3 label on the back of the screen, just use the V3 demo directly. (December 2021). If the screen with the partial mode of the V3 is slow, you can change the refreshing speed by modifying the waveform in EPD_2in13_V3.c. If the value is reduced, the speed will be accelerated. However, when the refreshing speed is improved, the color of the screen with the partial mode will fade. Driver Board: The version of the driver board and the screen are independent. The current version of the driver board is Rev2.1, with power-off function and level conversion function. The driver to be used is mainly selected according to the screen version.

  • Great little e-ink display at what amounts to a reasonable price in 2022
Used it for a little Raspberry Pihole readout (shown). Made my own custom dashboard out of pieces of a few github examples that didn't appear to be maintained. It was a monstrous pain, as most of them are written in an older version of python and I'm not proficient, but it was fun, and I highly recommend trying it. ... show more

  • This won't work for *that* project, but it's OK for other things
Waveshare silently replaced this with a "V3" module, so any code that requires a V2 module won't work unless it's updated. But for other projects, it's just fine.

  • Bought as V2, arrives as V3 means have to find and install correct dirvers
If you are buying for a canned project and expect a V2, mine arrived as a V3. This means different chipset and different drivers. If you are comfortable not a big deal. If you are using someone else's image for the raspberry pi then you have a little work ahead. bought this on as both the questions and pictures referenced the V2. ... show more

  • V3, not v2
The listing does not specify which version it it. It's v3 and is not compatible with much right now

  • Worked great for about 3 weeks...
After about 3 weeks of perfect function (fast updates, easy python scripting, etc) it went black. Completely black and it will not respond to clear or update commands. It was great while it lasted. I should add that it sat in a protected location and nothing changed, physically or otherwise, between working perfectly and not working at all. Update: I found the problem - it was me. :-( The display still works great - changing review from 1 to 5 The display is crisp and sharp and updates quickly using python libraries. ... show more

  • Works ok
This is a good introduction to eink and the advantages/disadvantages of eink. The display includes a voltage level converter which is unnecessary on a 3.3V system, but it works with 3.3V on both sides of the voltage converter. Full refresh rate is slow so the display is best suited for a static display eg the IP address & status of an IOT device. The waveshare library is ok but could be improved with some explanation about the difference between full and partial updates. Also the width and height seem switched which is counter intuitive. ... show more

  • Works great for Pwnagotchi! Be careful with ribbon cable!
This works perfect on a pwnagotchi for raspberry Pi zero W. Very compact and light. Consumes very little power. Please note that this display refreshes the screen after a few seconds. It does not continuously update the image on the screen. Most images are crisp. You can see a little bit of precious images in the background after it refreshes the screen. Be VERY careful of the yellow ribbon cable! It is incredibly fragile. Minor bumps or bends will render the screen unusable. ... show more

  • Sometimes goes dark over time
Good display, serves the purpose well. My one and only complaint, occasionally the display darkens in full between refreshes. Upon refresh the background is crisp white, then it slowly darkens before the next 30s refresh. The darkening will go to full black if left long enough.... This is only occasionally and I haven't found the culprit yet so not worth a horrible review. Will update as I investigate more. ... show more
