I've been using this grinder for several months and really like it. It is durable and easy to fill, and it looks absolutely beautiful. The grinder itself is easy to turn to pulverize the peppercorns so there is not much strain on the wrist. As much as I like this grinder, I only gave it 4 stars because I've noticed that no matter how much I tighten or loosen the top (the way you change the coarseness of the grind), the grind/size of the pepper flakes remains pretty much the same. Fortunately, the grind is between very coarse and super fine, so it is a good size for many applications. Overall, this is a lovely product. As long as you don't mind not getting a lot of variation in grind size, this is great. I highly recommend this grinder. ... show more

Upon unboxing, I was struck by two things - (1) the beauty of this made-from-oak-wood pepper mill, and (2) the size. I didn't realize how big this pepper mill was when I ordered it (although it is clearly stated in the description), but it's a slightly-smaller version of the canister you use at a bank drive-thru! It holds so much pepper that I don't think I'll need to refill it ever again...I think this will satisfy my pepper needs the rest of my life. The grinder is adjustable, so you can choose how fine you want your pepper. Very helpful! There's one major thing lacking...a bottom cap. That would help keep the pepper-dispensing bottom of the mill clean when it sits on my counter top (which it takes up a sizable portion of, because of its size). If you're lacking in kitchen space, you might consider a smaller (and less expensive) option. ... show more

I like that this pepper grinder not only looks nice but it also works well. It's easy to fill, but due to needing to remove the nut (adjustment knob} to refill, you'll have to find your desired coarseness setting all over again. Not a huge deal but something to keep in mind if you like a particular coarseness each time. Just twist the nut to adjust the coarseness of the grind. Wow, this salt/pepper grinder is a huge upgrade from our existing one! We needed a new pepper grinder for our kitchen so we could stop moving our existing grinder back and forth from the dining table to the kitchen (yes, we're pepper lovers). This one is beautiful - the acrylic center shows off the peppercorns (or the salt granules). The wood is a beautiful light to medium honey color, maybe a hair lighter than the colors show. It's easy to turn the grinder with the peppercorns, and the grind size is adjustable. This feels really good in your hands - it's not slippery, so you won't risk dropping it into the things you're cooking. The grinder is a decent size (it's not one of the 3" tall ones) - which has its pros and cons. You won't be constantly refilling it, but it does take up more space. Ours is used often enough that it sits out on the kitchen counter, and looks handsome in its new home. As other reviewers have noted, you need to reset your grind coarseness after refilling it. We don't think that's a big deal, so we didn't knock off any stars for it. So far, we're really impressed and would consider repurchasing. ... show more
