This is a relatively inexpensive chess set that isn't bad for the price. The pieces are light, as is the board. This can be a problem if someone accidently bumps a table or something similar. If your playing with a kid, this can be an issue! The board looks okay. It isn't nice or especially attractive but for the cost, it is good and better than something more basic. I got this as a second board so two of my kids can play while I play on another board with the third. It's good for this (except when they knock over the light pieces!) It also folds up easily. The pieces are stored internally making it easy to put away when not in use or to take with you for travel. I would not recommend this as a "nice" set. But for something that is functional and a step above a basic board with plastic pieces, this is a good option. ... show more

The only thing I don't like about this set are the pieces. Plastic and lightweight..tip over easy. It's a nice folding box though and is sturdy enough with a nice smooth coating.. So it deserves 5 ⭐️. I would recommend it.

Love the game set. Wanted for cottage rental something compact n this game set is perfect with Chess n Checkers. Came nicely packed and game pieces nicely stored in the box with soft foam to stay in place. Highly recommend. Exactly what I was looking and a reasonable price. Thank you!!
