I needed a dimmer to replace just a switch. This is for my camper. The switch was in a tight spot so I went with this model. Fit was almost perfect for the same hole cut out for the switch. It does turn on and off. When you first turn it on it is the lowest setting for dimness. Wires wire tinned which is a big plus. After hooking it up I tested it before screwing to wall. This dimmer works really well. I use it to power 8 individual 72" led strips for my camper. I only wish that the lowest setting was a little less voltage. Perfect replacement for wall opening in our Grand Design. Dims quite fine. It fits well in the kitchen table are and over the couch in the rear. It would be too bulky for the panel. I used smaller ones in the panel for the awning and main ceiling lights. What a difference!!!

Worked okay for 3 days!? Then heard pop while turning off and lights would NOT turn off!! Had to use circuit breaker. Then put old switch back in.
