    • Take it easy on this one it will bend if you use too much force
I bought this to clean up my 8 chickens, they're pooping piling up indoor shed because outside here in the northeast is cold, freezing temperature every night now, crazy weather. So I got it setup, very easy straight forward just screw all the parts together, and make sure it's tight, hand tight, don't use plier or what ever, just hand tight. Then on first use it work well with just scooping the poop whether it's wet poop or dried poops work fine. However if there are some dirt mud mixed with the poops or poops being frozen hard then it might give you a hard time, but don't force it too hard or strong, it will bend a little bit you will feel it, just take it easy. Better to have this than not, need to clean chicken poops and let it dried for compost or use it for your garden, it's a perfect scoop for this purpose. ... show more

This is a quality tool that has convinced me to do away with the wood shavings and move forward with a sand floor in my coop. I've always held off because I'd not seen a good enough sifting tool, now I've got one - Recommended

Not strong enough. This product is weak and is not able to support any weight. Not recommended for use in cleaning a chicken coop

    • Too Light
I guess if you only use pine shavings for substrate on the bottom of your chicken coop and run it may work well for you, but during the winter pine shavings do not provide the necessary drainage I need when it rains. I use sand and large bark and it’s too heavy for this light built scoop. Not that it isn’t well made of quality material, it most definitely is, and it’s adjustable to many different lengths which is why I ordered it. It just doesn’t have the weight behind it to scoop and sift my substrate, which is a let down. The first time I tried instead of scooping the scoop spun on the handle and started unscrewing itself, scared it, I guess. After tightening it I realized it just wasn’t the heavy duty scoop I needed for winter. I will try it again in the spring when I no longer need the drainage capabilities of my winter substrate. This pooper scooper was pretty easy to put together, however, the handle unscrews itself with use. Make sure you tighten it every time you use it and that problem goes away. The basket is perfect! The large size makes it easy to get the coop cleaned faster. It separates the poop from the shavings easily. I like the adjustable handle length as that makes it easier to use in confined areas. Be sure not to put too heavy of a load because it feels like it could bend. I haven't had it bend yet but I am being careful.
