  • Excellent well built. Metal drive gears!!
With so many of these that have plastic gears, this one is the exception, it is made of metal, possibly cast aluminium I am not sure. The spreader worked exceeding well. I had an issue with a part that was damaged in transit, and the seller even resent the part within 3 days to meet my time frame after talking to them through amazon. One note, if the drive wheels seem tight and don't move as freely towing by hand, it may be that you need to loosen the two nuts on the metal plate near the bottom and slide the plate either forward or back to re-align the expeller shaft with the bushing that is in the plastic hopper. I just did 1.5 acre of weed and feed in .... maybe 20 mins at 6mph. No issues with this spreader. Very happy. Had about 80-100lbs in it at any given time. Not quite sure 125lbs of the stuff I used would fit, but it wasn't that dense. Probably would hold 125lbs of 10-10-10 or rock salt just fine. Also I had no issues reaching the handle to open and close the hopper gate, but I did have to lean a bit. But I wouldn't change that part, it seems perfectly designed for reliability. ... show more

  • Worked for one season
The media could not be loaded. Bought this after spring 2022, used it to spread weed & feed throughout the summer. Spring 2023, noticed a plastic part broke & contacted the seller/manufacturer to replace. Sat fixed & in storage for the remainder of 2023. Tried to spread seed in Spring 2024, and now driving wheel (that turns the spreading rod) resists being turned & the gear won't catch the flywheel to turn it, even when turned by hand. Everything is lubricated, but nothing works correctly. ... show more

  • Sturdy spreader, well worth the money.
The assembly was straight forward, although, in my 70's, my fingers aren't as nimble as they used to be and getting some of the screws and nuts together was a little tricky for me. The spreader worked great and I like how the spreader is very sturdy. Should last a long time.

  • Steady on uneven ground
Was pretty straightforward to put together, took about 30 minutes and the hardware was marked very well and correspondent nicely to the instructions. Seems fairly flimsy and cheaply made in regards to the mechanism that turns the spreader, the metal gear was fairly sloppy but it worked great. Used it for about 3 hours after assembly spreading various products, handled rough areas on my 4 acres just fine without tipping. Maintained a fairly consistent spread rate and seemed to apply the product evenly. I wish there was a chart in the directions that equated it to another leading brand spreader, the products have the settings on the back but this brand was not listed on anything I have used. Have only used it once but seems worth the money, hopefully it will last. The photos show 40 lbs of one product and 64 lbs of another, both filled the hopper so the volume capacity is far less than its rated weight capacity. You would need a much bigger hopper to hold 110 lbs of product. ... show more

  • Great spreader
the spreader was hard to get to spin at first so I chucked an electric drill to the spinner shaft and spun it for a few minutes and it freed up and worked great Best spreader I have used so far

  • Good Design, Average Quality
I like that this model has metal gears that turn the spreader disk. I don't like that the disk is plastic. In putting the unit away after the first use, I accidentally pushed it against something, causing a quarter of the disk to break off. Fortunately, I was able to repair it with some super glue and a bit of thin plexiglass to reinforce the broken area. Also, the rod that goes from the adjustment handle to the gate in the bottom of the hopper was not made correctly on my unit. When connected as per the instructions, fully closed on the handle jammed the gate into the stop built into the hopper. I had to move the handle almost a third of the way before the gate opened enough to even see a crack, and fully open opened the gate less than halfway. Ultimately, I had to increase the bend in the rod, after which closed was closed, open was open, and intermediate settings were consistent. It was an easy fix, but shouldn't have been necessary. ... show more

  • Nice spreader
Hi, I bought this spreader to pull around behind my 03 Honda 350 Rancher 4x4 AtV. It was easy to assemble in that all the small nuts, bolt, cotter pins, etc were on a piece of cardboard, clearly marked to match what the assembly instructions called for. Keep in mind the everything is metric. I tool me a while to put mine together because I was having to serve through my tool box to find metric wrenches and sockets. If I'd had the metric tools at hand, it would be been much quicker to put together. I'll be using it tomorrow to spread seed on my deer hunting plot. ... show more

  • Not worth the price!
I bought the spreader in May 2020. My intent was to use it immediately, did not work out. Just now got to it this month. Assembly was OK, but the instructions were weak at best. I hooked it to my John Deere lawn mower. Strike 1: Had to remove my bagging attachment, mounting tongue was not long enough. Strike 2: I am average height and reach, sitting in the lawn mower seat, I could not reach the arm that opens the dispersal gate. I bought some 3/4" wide mild steel plate and extended the arm 24". Strike 3: The adjustable stop the controls the dispersal gate opening is a steel nut encased in a plastic wing nut. I tightened it up as much as I could. On my first test run, I opened the gate and the stop slipped on the mounting flange allowing me to go to the full open position. Very little effort was necessary. I readjusted the stop and tried to get it even tighter. The plastic wing nut twisted off the steel nut. Now I am on the way to the hardware store to get a real wing nut. Hope it works. I do not recommend this device and I have not yet been able to spread anything yet. It is cheaply made and expensively priced. ... show more
