    • Great for use on the roof of a pilot house boat. Spare bulb is surprising at this price point.

This light will work great on my 23' pilot house boat, with the white all-around light mounted on the roof over the cockpit. The light I have there now does not fold, making it nearly impossible to put a cover on the boat. This will resolve that. Unlike most all of the other ones I've seen, this is 9" tall rather than 12" tall, making it more overpass-friendly when towing my boat. The folding mechanism has very positive stops to lock it at a suitable angle, whether upright, folded down, or some angle in between. The base mounts with four screws rather than two like some others. The wiring will need some sort of pass-through, and a waterproof one at that when mounted on a boat's roof. Be careful to route the wires so that the light can go through the full range of motion without putting the wires under strain. The light color is almost blue-white . It's fine for visibility, but I prefer a warm white light on a boat at night, especially if I am fishing. While the dome is crystal-clear now, I wish that the vendor identified it as being compatible with some major brand like Perko or Attwood. That way, I could buy a replacement dome when needed. There is a spare LED bulb included, which is commendable on an inexpensive navigation light. Keep it on-board your boat; it won't do you any good at home if you nav light fails on the water. Also included are four mounting screws, but they are are too small (in diameter/size, not length). Buy some that fit properly. There is a pair of 1M long, 20AWG wires in red and black. They are not marine wires, so save them for some other use. Get real marine wires that are oil, fuel, and UV-resistant for boat navigation lights. I bought a small johnboat and it came with a battery powered stern light. The light should be seen at a distance of 1 mile, and I doubt the little light would be seen at more than 1/2 a mile. Along came SETYPARY 12V Stern Light. All I can say is, don't look directly at the light - it is BRIGHT! It even comes with an extra LED bulb. The support rod is steel and feels super sturdy. You could replace it if you want the light to be higher than 12" off your boat. The rest is plastic, but not that cheap plastic. This should last quite a while on my boat. It was easy to install, too. Just screw it to something with the included screws and you're good to go. I wish it would have come with longer wires, but I had my own wire and was able to make it work. I highly recommend this stern light to anyone who has a boat. ... show more

I purchased this light for an older pontoon that I am re-doing. The light is incredibly bright !!! I was very surprised to find a spare LED bulb in the box along with it. Installation was very easy as was wiring it in. The only negative for me was the hole pattern on the mount did not line up with my railing. I was only able to mount it using two screws as the mount was significantly wider than my railing. Over all very pleased with this light and am looking forward to my first night cruise this spring. ... show more

I was surprised when I pulled it out of the box and had it in my hand. It had weight and was thick metal and plastic. My first impression was that this is quality and will last a long time. The mounting bracket was thick and with four mounting holes. The clear lens was also thick, the whole unit is solid.
