    • A surprise
Husband was surprised at the power. It would have been a 5 except for the stroke, it isn't long enough. But he is very happy with it. Good for home use.

    • Very difficult to adjust height of drill bit
On the positive side, this mini drill press has a fairly wide adjustment mechanism to adjust the drill speed. The highest speed was too high to drill the wood I needed to drill, but it was easy to dial down the speed to avoid burning the wood. But I gave the drill press only 2 stars as my rating because it lacked a feature which I believe to be standard -- even for mini drill presses. When adjusting the height of the drill bit in relation to the piece being drilled, most drill presses have a small lever to loosen the heavy motor and drill chuck and bit, and a knob that turns the upper section either up or down once that section is loosened. This drill press has the lever but not the knob. When you loosen the lever the entire upper section falls down. So you are forced to try to hold up the heavy upper section with one hand while attempting to push this section up or down to get the right height for the drill bit, and then try to tighten the lever with the other hand when you think you've got the correct height for the drill bit. This design makes adjusting the drill press to achieve the proper height of the drill bit very time-consuming and difficult. ... show more
