Really great price for the pond pump. Easy to use, good size and had no problem putting it all together. Not too loud, performs as expected, well made. Just wish the pump had some type of protection from the elements. I built a box to hold the pump for 4-season use.

    • Motor Burn up within 2 months of use.
This item worked good out of the box. I put it on a timer to run during daylight hours. Purchased in late July and this item has failed in September. Something failed inside the motor and melted all of the leads and wiring. Very disappointed due to the cost of the item and its failure.

This Lake Aeration Pump Kit was installed in my farm pond to keep me from having problems with fish kill due to pond turnover.. It works GREAT and I would tell anyone who needs such as system they should buy from this company.. It is a great value and the customer service is awesome. When my kit arrived some parts were damaged due to shipping NOT the fault of the seller. However, I contacted customer support and "Nathan" went above and beyond what anyone has ever done for me to get the new parts I needed. He even extended my warranty from one year to two.     • Hose is absolutely the worst - rest is OK
We got it all hooked up, motor is more quite than the bubbles exiting the pond - not bad at all! We deployed only 1 of the 2 aerators due to not having enough hose length. The 100' hose must be used for both aerators which means you have to cut to size. This is OK except its too short. The real issue we have, is that we are only on day 2 (1 hour run-time) and the hose already blew out! Pump is leaking air enough that no air is reaching the aerator. Now we have to start over, go buy adequate hose and try again. The cost in lost time and trying to find the right type/size/length of hose is not worth it. Looking back, we wish we would have just purchased the right pump, the desired aerators and then any proper hose. Buyer - be prepared to replace the hose include - it is nearly useless. It will be interesting to see how well the pump does over time. Generally speaking, this is otherwise a nice system for beginners. Note - there is a document from seller to buy a plug, we did not need to buy a plug. This pump came with an AC cord with a 3 prong plug attached. Seller should correct ad, we now have a 3-prong plug to return to hardware store. Decent pump, aerators are actually impressive. ... show more

I thought I would wait a while after using this system to rate it. I have a retention pond in my back yard that I have modified to increase the size and depth. The plan is in the spring I plan on stocking it with catfish. This pump is made very well. It's very heavy for its size which makes it seem very well put together. It has a two aerator pump system, but the size of my pond only needs one. It has included the taps to cap off the second port. Most important, as others have stated the provided hose is not strong enough where it connects to the pump. This system gets really hot and the pressure on the line will cause it to get weak and burst. It requires a 3/8 inch hose. I ordered 10 feet of 3/8 inch heat proof fuel and radiator hose. About 7 feet from the pump can be spliced to the hose that was provided to prevent failure. I also made a small brick enclosure that matches my brick house and I made a sloped roof cover to protect it from getting wet. As I stated it runs really hot so it needs an opening to keep it from getting hot. The technical support is awesome. Nathan answered all of my questions very quickly. He even reimbursed be the cost that I spent on the correct hose and the splicing connectors. Another thing that I did is connected it to a Wi-Fi plug that I could set the pump on an intermittent schedule because my pond doesn't need a 24 hour running schedule. I have it set up to run an hour about twice a day, and hour in a half from 7:30 to 9:00 and from 11:00 to 4:30 in the morning. It has been proven that aquatic weeds mostly grow at night. I can see a visible difference in the clarity of the water now. It's very clear. This has been a very good product. The only reason I didn't give a perfect give stars is because of the hose modification. But as I said, you can get this reimbursed if you contact Fiskers ... show more

    • This pump saved our pond!
When your pond drops almost 10 feet because of drought, something must be done to keep oxygen in the water. We tried this pump and it worked wonders. The directions were simple and the pump was easy to put together and use. We weren't sure it would be big enough for our 3 acre pond, but it did the trick. Over the winter, it kept about half of the water open and bubbling with oxygen, even in below 0 weather. We had no fish kill over the winter, and the fish we are catching are big and healthy. Definitely will use it again next winter or maybe sooner if the rains don't come. ... show more

    • Hose failure and pump failure
I have been trying to use this pump and build up to leaving it on all of the time, however the hoses keep splitting about two inches away from the fitting coming from the pump. I have tried electric tape to help the hose then the other side split, I taped both sides and now it appears it has happened again. I am not sure what the hoses are made up of, but they keep breaking down. I think I am going to go get some of the black plastic funny pipe used for sprinklers and connect that to the pump and out of the box, then connect the supplied air hose back outside the box. I am not sure why the supplied hose is not holding up. The thought maybe the heat or the pump was moving, but I do not believe either of those is causing it. Hopefully the hose is not breaking down in the water. Any recommendations or thoughts from manufacturer? After 1 month of use the pump stopped working and item was returned. Unit gets extremely hot and hose kept splitting likely because of the heat. ... show more
