    • This is the 2nd unit I purchased after returning the first. Poor customer service by manufacturer

The first BISElong water heater I purchased had an inline pressure relief valve. It leaked. After some interaction with product support and the promise on a replacement valve. Never happened. I returned the product. As the unit seemed to work well except for the pressure relief valve I purchased from the same manufacturer another Biselong water heater. This unit same as first except the pressure relief valve is not in line but a separate top mounted threaded unit. So 3 threaded entries on top. water in / water out and the threaded opening between. When I hooked it up the pressure relief threaded opening seemed to be a not tight fit. It leaked even though I used the pipe tape included with product. I tried various tape, plumbing compounds. It still leaks. I read about the problem for another customer. Apparently the threads for the valve relief opening and the included pressure relief valve do not properly match. This is the 2nd unit from the company with a major problem. I am left with either returning this unit also after all my prep work or possibly getting a (next day shipped) correctly fitting pressure relief valve (matched threads) unit from this manufacturer. Unless I receive some response (from manufacturer) quickly I will be returning this product. I will withhold my final evaluation of this company's product pending a quick response and action on their part. ... show more

    • Bad pipe threads…

Ultimately I am pleased with this little water heater. It woks well and provides enough hot water for a quick makeshift camp shower. However, there was a problem with it right out of the box. The pipe threads on the hot side were so bad that they were unusable. You could not screw anything on to them. I had to go buy a pipe die and re-thread them before I could hook it up. Fortunately I knew what to buy and how to do it. It wasn’t too hard to do, but most people wouldn’t know how or what to do. If anyone else experiences this same problem, you’ll need to get a 1/2”-14 tapered Pipe Die to fix it. I recommend getting a hexagonal shaped die so you can turn it with a wrench. If you get a round shaped die, you will also need a die handle to turn it. ... show more
