I almost always carry a spare cord, but recently when on a half day halibut charter and did not take a spare. Big mistake! My cord failed and I had to hand crank fish and 3 pound weights from 250’. Not fun for a 78 year old.

This works a couple times and then the connector became corroded and I lost power in 400ft of water. I had to spend the whole day reeling in 24oz sinkers with my bare hands! If you want to ruin your fishing trips, buy this poor immitation. Otherwise, spend a few more bucks and buy genuine.
