The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars for durability is that I've only had it a couple weeks so far. I tested the download and upload speeds before and after the switch and saw no drop in speeds. Please note this is a review for the 30 port rackmount switch. I've tried ienRon's smaller truly fanless switches which left me more satisfied. I purchased this switch for my home's network closet which is close to my workspace hoping to prepare for more 2.5gb devices. The SFP+ and 2.5GbE ports definitely work and negotiate with my other devices with my limited testing, but the claim it's "Quiet and Fanless" is completely false. There are two 40mm switch fans in this switch that are far from quiet and don't seem to support PWM quieting like some other rackmount switches. The product description at the time of writing claims it's a "Layer 3 PoE Switch" which I didn't expect to be true. I did test all ports since PoE would justify the fans a lot more, and it's definitely lacking PoE features. It does work though, and it's still a great price for what it is. Just another case of "you get what you pay for." Maybe my unit just had faulty fans, but I wouldn't recommend it for home use unless you can tolerate the noise, isolate it better than I can, or are willing to figure out a fan upgrade/fix. If it had its NA market certifications, a switch like this would be great in a professional setting, but it's missing the stamps like a lot of the other cheap 2.5GbE switches, so it's just not the product for me, but I could see it being very useful for others. For myself, I might just get more fanless 8 port 2.5GbE + 1 SFP+ switches I can network to my SFP+ switch which is a messy solution compared to this switch but also actually silent and a bit lower cost. ... show more
