I'm a bit of a sound buff. I love audio and have been building speakers for more than 40 years. I could not pass trying this Seventour 10" 1000W Slim Under Seat. I did not installed in my car. I got a 12V 50A power supply that gives me 600W and installed on my film editing workstation. It is currently under my desk. Installation was super easy. + and REM ports need to be plugged to the +12 out and - plugged to the -12v out. BOOM! it wakes up instantly. I don't really care for the blue neon light, especially as this is a under the seat speaker. Maybe there is a way to turn it off. Some people may find it attractive. You get everything you need for an installation. Cables, fuses, converters, etc. I got it working with the RCA out of my JBL M-Patch. No issues, no rattling, most important. The box is very well built and tight. Now the provided + cable (red) is at MOST a 14 gage wire. There is a lot of insulation but not a lot of copper. I actually held it against at 14AWG speaker wire and it looks like the speaker wire has more copper (just on one side, of course). So if you plan on pushing this thing to the limit I would highly recommend getting a better wire. To push 1000W from a 12V source we are looking between 90 and 110 A. That is A LOT! For that sort of current the recommended size is a 2!!!!!!!! (#2 AWG) The provided cable is 14 or 5 times smaller that it should. AWG the smaller the number, the thicker the cable is. Gladly you don't need a super long cable so this should not be terribly expensive. Don't quite understand why the did that. SOUND This is, obviously, a short throw speaker. Thickness is 2.8 inches (TOTAL) box included. So the speaker don't move a lot, consequently don't push much air. For an under seat that is perfectly fine and necessary because you can't fit a full size box under you seat. I have trainer sound ears, and worked a sound engineer for a few years in my youth. The sound is clean but very, very dry. Most people won't notice a difference, especially because they never actually listened to other subwoofers. So if you are NOT an audio snob like me, this will be perfectly fine. If you are looking for accurate sound reproduction, you will need one of those giant boxed that goes in the trunk. Lastly the remote control is SUPER useful. You can "tune" your bass depending on the song being played. Some songs will be recorded with less bass and others with WAY too much bass, being able to fine tune the amount of bass you have coming from the subwoofer is a treat. I have two of these - the 800W and the 1000W one. They are both well constructed, packaged and great customer support. I am giving it 5 stars as it does excel as an under seat bass, is easy to install, comes with all the wiring you need and can hook into almost any stereo. That being said, I did install it in my boat, in the rear inside of a well. It performs well here as there is some resonance available for it. I also mounted it where no water will get to it and in a vertical position. When I first installed it the directions said to use both sub-out RCA cables and it didn't work. Quick CS email and switched it to one and no problem. I leave the bass control all the way up for this install and if it was under seat this is a great feature. Some comments here about the wiring and fuse size. First off, the wire does have a lot of insulation so it looks real thick and the wire itself seems small. But just because this is 1000W - this is not the power draw. It is the Peak performance. The RMS and power consumption are quite different. These modern amps can produce huge power without a lot of power draw. The fuse and wiring are fine for their given length. Now if you need longer run, then get a higher gauge wire. Regarding the difference between the 800W and 1000W - it is noticeable. I do get a lot more thump and can feel it in the water. It also makes my tower speakers seem to have more depth to them as they are just 8" dual's. It really compliments the interior speakers too and just rounds out the whole system. So, overall this is a very versatile system with great support. But, if you are looking for a big punch not under the seat then you won't get it here due to the smaller throw of these speakers - not a knock on them, it just is what it is so don't get your expectations up and complain when it doesn't do what it's not designed too. This is a nice setup to add a little punch to your bass. It's not a huge difference which is why I would recommend mounting under the seat if possible. Otherwise, just get a larger sub for the trunk if you really want to feel the bass. I am happy with this though. I did not use most of the wires that came with the kit as I used a higher quality set. ... show more
