For an affordable foot rest, it's good and functions. At the max height it can get a bit tippy if you press too high up on it, but during normal use in a normal foot position it's sturdy enough. It folds flat for easy storage and transport. I play the double bass, and need an elevated footrest for one foot. I usually just tote around a couple of yoga blocks bundled together for the height, but this seems promising. It doesn't need to support my entire weight or anything, so it's plenty strong. And I like that it folds up completely flat. Saves more space, for sure. It will be a bit heavier because a small piece of steel is heavier than my former big piece of foam, but it's not too bad. As of yet, I can't tell if prefer that it slants a little. The blocks are parallel on top and bottom, but this has a slight wedge shape.. If I grow to dislike it, I'll come back and amend this, but so far so good. ... show more

For as small and lightweight as this is, it's remarkably sturdy. The top of the stool is never exactly horizontal to the ground. In the lowest position, it has just under a 5° incline. In the highest position, it's just under 20°. I haven't had any trouble with either it slipping or my foot slipping on it. I have to move it around a bit to get it just right, but once it's in place, it feels very natural and makes it easier to hold a guitar on my lap. It does tip a little if I move my foot, but I'm ok with that since I don't use it for anything more than resting a foot on while I sit upright. I could potentially see it causing more trouble if you do use it for applying toenail polish and you're putting more weight on it. At the current price of $9 for one or $6 apiece if you're buying the pack of four, it's a great buy. ... show more

The foot stool is adjustable for all heights of chairs. My husband has used it with an office chair, a kitchen table chair and with his guitar stool pictured here. It is stable and stays at the height you set it to. It is long enough for his foot which is a size 10.
