I saw a commercial for "Weighted blankets" from Sharper Image. I thought that would help me relax at night and get some sleep. There price was like $250 so I went to amazon. When I saw this I had to get it. The price was great. The box arrived with a hole in it but, luckily it was not damaged. I got the 15 lb. blanket and I am 125 lbs. 5'6". It is a good size for me, alone. It does help me feel more relaxed. My dog is already moving in on it. Not sure how to wash it so I will get a cover for it. This reminds me of the lead vest the Dentist puts on you for X-Rays but, much softer. I will update my results. I may have to get one for my 13 yr. old. He has trouble relaxing at night too. I would get him the same weight. ... show more

I’ve never written a review and I order a shameful amount of product here 😔. This is my favorite thing so far. So Pleased. It’s super high quality fabric and the stitching looks like it will do the job. I’m 5’10’ and 150lbs. When o first saw it other than thinking it looked like a good quality I was not too sure about the shape but using it now has made sense of why it’s not wider like I had thought I might have needed to be. It does help me sleep a lot better. I still wake up to use the bathroom too much (twins) but I’m not bummed as much because it’s so much easier to fall back asleep. It is so rad. Under it right now. Don’t want to get up though has been a bit problematic in that aspect. 🤷🏻♀️ But there’s no right amount of time one should stay in bed I’ll just figure out a way to get other stuff done in less time. ... show more

Ordered one for husband (5’7, 175lbs, very muscular) and older teen son (5’11, 185lbs, lean muscles). Husband says “too heavy, makes my feet have to lie flat” bc he’s a back sleeper. Son loves it, takes it with him whenever he sleeps away from home, puts it on himself in living room if he’s watching TV at night. He showed it to his grandmother and she’s getting one (much lighter of course), as are my other sons, for Christmas. The blanket itself is very well stitched. It’s pockets of heaviness are small and their load doesn’t shift. I haven’t tried washing it, I think my washer would be DONE. It’s hot to me in the summer, but wonderful this time of year. However, at my “maturity “, everything is hot at night and the guys didn’t complain about it. I like the weight, would probably like a slightly lighter one for myself (140lbs) but I’ve been using my husband’s on my side of the bed since he abandoned it. It’s hard to get out from under it, I canNOT just fling back the covers!! I sleep side-lying but with this blanket, I can comfortably sleep on my back some. I can say it’s hard to move under it (remembering that it is a little heavy for me). It does lull me to sleep sooner once I lie down, it keeps restless legs at bay, it does feel hug-like and over the sheet and blankets I can stay so comfy in a cold house. I’d recommend a weighted blanket for RLS and for problems falling asleep/staying asleep, can’t say if it helps anxiety, but falling asleep n sleeping comfortably should help moods n anxiety. I’d recommend this blanket for its secure stitching, lack of shifting, and quality of fabric. ... show more

If you got insomnia and anxiety issues, this blanket seriously does the job in calming you down and getting you sleep! No joke. I still take my sleeping meds but for years I used to wake up every night a few times and still tossed and turned. But for the past few nights since I got the blanket, I haven’t woken up once during the night. I also don’t toss and turn anymore. When I feel anxious I put the blanket around me and after an hour i feel much better. I wish it was a fleece blanket but nevertheless, it’s totally worth the price! I got the 15lbs (I’m 138lbs) one and it’s pretty heavy as is. I suggest you try it... you can still return it if it doesn’t work for you but I doubt you’ll wanna return it. ... show more

My husband calls this “the concussion blanket,” because if you toss it at someone, you might knock em out. I love my concussion blanket. I love this thing so much that I’ll never be able to NOT have it in my life. It is that amazing. This is the only concussion blanket I’ve ever owned, or have even seen in the wild. Therefore, I have no other one to compare it to. This one sure seems perfect, though. It’s tough as nails. It goes through the washing machine and we dry it by hanging it over the shower. We don’t dare subject the dryer to the brute force of the concussion blanket. The beads or whatever it is that gives this blanket its brawn have not moved around. It holds its weight impressively. It dares all other blankets to even look at it sideways. Putting this blanket on top of you feels like being seductively crushed under layers of wet cement. It’s wildly appropriate that it’s the same color as fresh concrete. And it smothers you so, so good. I can’t sleep without the concussion blanket now. And don’t you even suggest I do! If you’re reading these reviews because you’re uncertain about purchasing a blanket that wrestles your whole being into sweet, sweet submission — well, cut that out! Buy this thing! ... show more
