These glasses are okay if you need heavy duty glassware. They are thick and heavy. The "hobnail" pattern might make them slightly less likely to slip out of someone's hand when the glass is wet. Given that these are so thick, they are amazingly packaged in a six-inch thick styrofoam box, inside a brown box, inside Amazon's thick cardboard shipping box. Aesthetically these glasses were a fail for me. In addition to the clunky thickness of the glass, they aren't very colorful. Unless the light catches them at particular angles, the iridescence is hard to spot. And even in the right light it's unremarkable. The hobnails are not the classic, vintage pattern with all the bumps the same size. There are at least five different bump sizes encircling the glass in rows; that could be a modern interpretation except it highlights the three visible vertical seams going from rim to base on the glasses. ... show more

I got the rainbow set. They are very thick and sturdy, dishwasher safe and are a good size. I had a brunch shortly after I got these glasses and got a lot of compliments on the look and feel. I'm so glad I replaced my old set with these glasses!
