They are easy to install and thinner than 1/2" drywall, so can be installed under the ceiling joists for a more symmetrical layout. I like the warm white light for over kitchen counters and dining areas. Each light is about the equivalent to a 75 watt incandescent. Great value IMO.

I just purchased a set of twelve (12) 6" LBT-6RPL-12 Recessed LED Panel Light units manufactured by ZOUZAI. These are a 6" round "can-less" ceiling downlight that may be used as a retrofit unit to replace socketed ceiling light fixtures. I had previously purchased a competing product (HALO slim can-less downlights) at a big box store, but then saw these on Amazon at a much lower unit price, so decided to buy and try them out. I am very impressed by the solid build quality of the ZOUZAI product, which appears to be on par in every way with the HALO units. The bezel construction, molded electrical connectors and the seizure clips are very well designed, and appear to be as sturdy as those on the HALO units. Specs on both are virtually identical, but the ZOUZAI lights produce slightly higher brightness at lower power consumption (1080 Lm @ 12W, vs HALO's 1040 Lm @ 13.2W). For those reasons, and the significantly lower cost, I'm keeping these ZOUZAI lights, and returning the HALOs. The only thing in favor of the HALO lights is their integrated strain relief Romex connectors on the junction box, but that's a minor consideration that can be handled using a snap-in plastic box connector. These lights look great, very easy to install. I just really wish that they were as bright as they claimed to be. I installed 5 of these to replace two LED light bulbs with 1500LM each. I was disappointed that the room was not as bright as before. I thought it would be a lot brighter (total of 5000LM with 5 of these lights vs 3000LM before). I returned them. Just a word of caution - the spring/clip that hold the lights up the ceiling are extremely strong, so strong that it injured my fingers when I pulled them out. I guess it's kind of like getting-caught-on-a-mouse-trap strong? If I were to do it again, I would wear a pair thick leather gloves. ... show more
