The socks were a great fit, didn't fill with water, didn't mess with my kicking, and offered foot protection, but I don't recommend them for warmth. I used these the first time in 54 degree water and the Zone3 swim socks gave maybe a 3 to 4 degree bump. My feet definitely felt like I was swimming in 50s degree water. I could I guess live with the socks at 54 degrees, but not so much when the temp drops to 50 or 49. I've used Xterra's swim socks and they were notable warmer (but burst a seam). The issue I see with the Zone3 swim socks is that the seams are not taped or sealed. Fill them with water and the water drains out of them like a sieve. So when swiming, there must be a a constant flushing of cold water into the socks. ... show more

I wanted the warmer zone3 so I returned these. I knew they would not work in water temps less than 60 degrees. My feet would get too cold. Swimming in 47 degree water

    • These are junk. Wear out very quickly.

They started out strong, but after about 20 uses in the ocean, they are turning to mush, with many holes in the soles. The uppers are all stretched out and look about ready to distintegrate. i carefully wash them in cold water after every use and allow them to air dry.

    • No water sloshes in, but not warm enough.

the design of these socks is excellent--the velcro around the calf keeps the sock snug, and I had zero problems with the socks filling up with water--they didn't. BUT. They weren't warm enough. I used them in 57 degree Fahrenheit water (14 celsius) and my feet were FREEZING. I felt like they didn't really provide any insulation to speak of. They did provide a nice surface to avoid touching the mucky bottom, but I wish I'd gotten a thicker pair. ... show more

    • Put them on slowly
Foot size = 9.5 Purchased large blck ~30 swims so far with them; 1.5hrs per open water swim, 57/58F Acquired to avoid stepping directly on seagrass and sting rays during entry/exit; not necessarily for cold. I don't get cold after 5mins of entry, wearing just jammers. FITTING FIRST dry-fitting was TIGHT, but when on, fitted perfectly. Stayed snug in open water swim. Suggestion: put socks on like how women put on pantyhose in movies; scrunch the sock flat from opening down to the toes portion, then slowly insert toes, pull them up inches at a time making sure each inch from toes fit snugly before proceeding up rest of feet to heels then up legs. Much easier subsequent to first fitting, after neoprene stretched to form your feet. ... show more
