The adapter threads are the most poorly machined and finished threads I have ever seen. Even at these cheap price I was expecting threads that would be safe to use on an aluminum engine block without causing damage. If you are using this on a cast iron block then it may be be safe enough since brass is a softer metal than iron. It is also worth noting that the plastics have an unusually pungent chemistry. It smells about 5 times stronger than Cosmoline...you can taste it in your mouth just from getting a whiff. I am returning this and will find another compression test kit instead. ... show more
