My friend helped me put the bed together. The parts and tools were unbelievably well-organized. Kudos to the manufacturer and designer for their attention to detail and thoughtfulness. [Tip: My friend knows more about assembling furniture than I do, and he noted that it was important to not screw the screws in tightly until the bed is fully assembled and everything is aligned. Attach headboard last and adjust height if needed. We lowered the headboard in order to not have empty space at the bottom where the back is supported. Also, note that there's a little piece of foam in a bag that one reviewer used between the fully assembled bed and the wall, to prevent scratches. That as a great tip, though I didn't need it because the bed frame doesn't touch the wall because of baseboard moulding.] Another thing - I'm chemically sensitive (in other words, I can smell toxic chemicals) and I was very pleasantly surprised to only smell the faintest of smell upon opening the box. Once assembled, I wiped down the wood with a non-toxic gentle cleaner and cloth just to make it nice and fresh. Because it was new, I did crack the window for the first few nights, just in case. Oh, by the way, I bought a 10" natural latex mattress to complete the bed. Best bed set-up ever. This is a sturdy, totally non-squeaky, great looking bed frame. I highly recommend it. ... show more

To start, overall very nice and happy with the purchase. I was really nervous with the mixed reviews and “spray paint gold” on the feet. Happy to say I have the gray padded head board version with the gold metal feet. I put this together on my own in about 1.5 hours. Very sturdy, no squeeking, great directions. The color is a very nice Walnut. I would have left 5 stars, but this bed frame is just slightly small. I do have an oversized queen mattress so that’s partially my fault. I wish it was 20% bigger but for the price I’m very happy with what I bought. The bed came in one box, undamaged. ... show more

Bed came packaged perfectly; the Styrofoam is even wrapped to reduce mess. Easy directions to follow. Zero damage or missing pieces or parts. Very sturdy. The legs are so gorgeous. This frame was $$$ cheaper and VERY similar to the other walnut mid-century beds I wanted. I ultimately went with this one because of the price (why is everything exponentially more expensive now??!). So we set it up and I LOVE the look of it.
