Putting this together was simple other than there are numbers and letters showing how to assemble in the proper steps. The letters confused me (maybe it’s just me, but idk what the letters were there for ?). Once we went only by the numbers we did fine . We had several interruptions during assembly but could have assembled it in 30 minutes otherwise. It seemed pretty lightweight and I wondered about how sturdy it would be, but once we got it on the bed and the mattress on, it seems sturdy enough. It is a little narrower than my bedframe so we put down 6 slats we had, under it for support so it wouldn’t fall through to the floor . With all the interruptions we forgot to attach the slats that came with it and put the cover on and then the mattress, so the mattress went all wonky and we were thinking what a piece of junk! Then I realized we had not put the slats on !!!! LoL….Once We did that and got all assembled correctly, it is fine. My big (football linebacker size) 18 year old grandson is sleeping on it and we haven’t heard any noise or had problems with the boxspring so far. We opted for the wooden slats over metal and they seem a little thin, but so far so good. The Velcro attachment is awesome as are the extra screws and the ratchet and Allen wrench that came with it. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD BASE ALREADY ON YOUR BED. I love this box spring. So easy to assemble!! I am 70 years old and I did it by myself in 2 hours. Young people I bet you only need 30 minutes LOL. The cover is so nice. Very pleased. It looks sturdy so we will see. My first impression was wait this is 2 inches short on the sides. That helps to put the beautiful cover on easily. Needed a shorter pedestal for our mattress. New bedframe made the total height of existing boxspring and mattress way to high. Needed a step stool and a boost. This was the perfect height. Received, and FYI, the box is surprisingly heavy. It's not light like a wood box spring. No tools are required; the Allen wrench that came with it, along with a small ratchet, did not need the ratchet. TI assembled the frame in 15 min after opening the box. It is well-made, and the directions are basic and straightforward. It is almost as good as Ikea's directions. The slipcover was also easy to put on and tighten. So far, to date, the frame is doing well. I plan to retighten the screws after a month. I recommend this frame primarily since it is delivered for free. ... show more

I did a lot of research before purchasing. If you buy all steel you can get steel sounding creeky noises. If you buy all wood its not as durable. This is the perfect hybrid of both. The outsides are steel but the slats are flexible wood held down by very heavy velcro. I LOVE IT

I absolutely LOVE this product. Even though it came under assembled it's SOO EASY to put together. I did it while my son was arranging the rest of the bedroom...my empty nest is full again. I would definitely buy this again for quality, convenience and price you can't beat it 😉

    • Solid pick, but some things to be mindful about for assembly

It is a nice pick for a boxspring/foundation. The feel is sturdy though it isn't perfect. Our purchase had some of the assembly holes not lining up which required minor drilling out of holes to ensure they fit. I would recommend having this available just in case yours doesn't line up. Assembly was quick after this issue was fixed. Two wood slates were a little warped so you may also have this happen. It has affected us and the mattress weight corrects this. One final thing that I couldn't figure out until I bought it is that the outer cover for a QUEEN mattress does in fact cover the top and bottom. It appears that if you get a twin, it only will be a cover for the top. The larger sizes have a middle support bar and a dust cover for both the top and bottom. ... show more
