I am so surprised how beautiful this bed looks in person. I mean, it looks great in the pictures but they don't do it justice. The stain is a beautiful rich brown mahogany and each piece feels very sturdy as it should. I purchased two of these for two different rooms and had no issues with either one. The packaging is above and beyond.... double-boxed and the styrofoam is enclosed in plastic wrap so it doesn't fall apart all over the place. One of the outer boxes was damaged but there was no damage to the actual product. It took myself plus one son to assemble the beds. I could've assembled on my own but it's nice to have the help. Took about 30 mins each bed. The box itself is extremely heavy and it took 2 of us to haul them upstairs. If I'd have been alone, I would've taken each piece up one at a time. The instructions are very simple and easy to understand. The screws and washers are well-labeled and come with extra parts. It even comes with a ratchet allen wrench which is really cool. All the pieces are labeled with stickers and you just match the stickers and screw in the screws. There is nice attention to details with the velcro system and the center beam has felt on top to reduce noise. The beds feel very sturdy and look amazing. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and checked lots of other websites... Pottery Barn, Haverty's, Rooms to Go, etc... looking for a great bed at a great price. The only thing I might add are extra slats. For this, I'll head to Home Depot and have some wood cut to size to lay in between the slats that came with the bed. That is just because I want the mattress to last as long as possible and I believe the slats are supposed to be closer together. You could also forgo the slats and use a piece of plywood or very short bunkie board for your foundation. Overall, I'm extremely pleased and would highly recommend this. ... show more

If every piece of assembly-required furniture was like this bed, the world would be a better place. This bed reflects outstanding design thinking. Everything is done for ease of assembly. The instructions are A+. They even include a ratched tool to make things easier. Two of my children moved out recently, and I had the privilege of assembling beds they purchased online. I put this one together in the time it took me to read the instructions on the other bed. The instructions and labeling of components is idiot proof. I had one issue: some of the hardware I received with the unit was defective. The seller shipped me a complete set of hardware to address the issue. I needed a lower bed due to my wife's mobility issues. I had considered using our existing Queen bed frame, and modifying that frame to accept wood slats, adding a center support for the slats, and then adding the wood slats to replace the box spring. A lot of time consuming work and expense. Researched this bed frame and it appeared to be just what I needed and was designed better than what I had in mind. Following the instructions made constructing the frame easy. Having pins to initially align the slats plus velcro to hold the slats in place at the proper spacing worked great! The adhesive strips depicted are not so strong that they keep you from lifting the mattress, but are strong enough to prevent the mattress from sliding on the slats, which works well. It seems to be a well designed unit. Put it together myself in less than an hour and I'm 71. I considered the version with a headboard, but I was able to drill a couple holes in the frame and attach my old headboard. Since this lowers the mattress to a sitting height for my wife, I was able to get rid of the step stool seen in the photo, so less clutter, and the height of the bottom rail allows us to once again use our rolling storage boxes underneath. ... show more

Always wary of purchasing furniture online, I'm always afraid it will be cheap or flimsy. This piece is neither of those. Solid wood construction and easy to assemble. My son helped me(I have arthritis in my hands, so turning the tool was hard.) And we had it together very quickly. It doesn't make any noise sitting down on the bed or shifting around. It also has plenty of space underneath for storage, one of the reasons for choosing this bed. My one con is that it sits so much lower than our previous bed(mattress, box springs and frame on risers), but to knew it would. The headboard isn't really tall enough so that if we tried to add a box spring to make the bed taller, the headboard would all but disappear. If I could find a frame with taller headboard by the same company, I would immediately buy it ans move this one to the guest room. Otherwise, very happy with my purchase. ... show more

Honestly, I’ve never said this about pre-fab furniture but I actually ENJOYED putting this together because everything fit together perfectly. The quality is impressive, and whoever engineered the packaging, I hope you get a raise. It was just perfect. No complaints at all. My only design suggestion for future versions would be to make the headboard about a foot taller. It’s such a pretty bed and I hate to cover it with my pillows when I make my bed. ... show more

This for a full size frame. The packaging that it came in was impressive. I particularly loved that the thermacol pieces were wrapped in plastic! so you don't have little pieces flying all over as you unpack. The bed istelf is sturdy, the central support is metal. Slats are of good quality. I loved the velcro lining in the bedframe where the slats rest to prevent them from moving. It easily accomodated my full mattress. With 10 in mattress and a topper, the overall height is about 24 in. ~8" space below allows for easy vacuuming and cleaning underneath. Assembly is easy, the tools provided are adequate enough. Love they provide some extra pieces. The only drawback, so to speak, some may find is that the assembly instructions are all pictures, no text. But easy to figure out.
