Top Amazon Reviews

  • Fun with Furniture, lol
Style: with Wood Headboard Size: Full Color: Rustic Pine
First, many thanks to the reviewers before me. It gave me a good idea of what was awaiting for me. Kudos to the Amazon delivery guy, I have never received a package at 7am! (Normally after 5pm) but I had to go to work so I just brought it inside and unpacked the box. I got home from work and started to assemble in my living room, I figured I would bring it upstairs in parts as I complete them. It really wasn’t too difficult, I had to look at the instructions and figure them out because there were numbers all over the parts. I figured out that even though a piece had “1” on it, it wasn’t part 1 but part 1 gets screwed in to that piece. As I went through the assembly, I didn’t tighten everything up, the bolts were mostly tight but I left some slack in everything. Once all the pieces were in place, I did the final tightening of the bolts. In all, in my lackadaisical manner, I was finished in about an hour, hour and 15 minutes. The real challenge for me was the slats, well not really the slats but the Velcro, lol. The first slat gets connected to dowels on the bed and then I pulled a little and then placed the second slat, then the third. Etc. The second set of slats went much easier once I had the hang of it. From your comments: The Tool is Cool! Don’t lose it :-) It’s pretty much a mini ratchet wrench. It also comes with an allen key but the ratchet wrench makes it so much easier. If you ever lose the took, you can probably just use a ratchet wrench with the correct Allen key. I noticed some people mentioned that they have to tighten up the bolts after a month or so. I’m only writing this on day 3 so I haven’t had that issue yet. I was tossing around getting some Loctite and applying it when I was in the process of assembling the bed but then I figured I wouldn’t jump the gun, I would wait to see if the bolts do get loose. Coincidentally, I checked the instructions on Locktite and they said to heat your “bolt” up to 135 degrees to loosen a bolt, that may not be an option on the bed. Permatex makes “Screw Glue” which I will likely go out and purchase if the bolts/screws don’t hold. Another person mentioned the legs may be uneven. Another person mentioned a leg got bent and scratched their new wood floor. I am keeping this in mind. I’m tossing around a rug to go under the bed or might use felt pads under the legs. I don’t want to discount anyones review so I am just being prepared :-) I really didn’t see any blemishes on the product but know I purchased this based on the price point. It’s a reasonably inexpensive frame/headboard and I’m not expecting it to be perfect. What else? I have an air vent by the wall that prevents me from placing the bed directly against the wall. I have it pushed away from the wall about 12 inches, just in case, I placed a squared frame lamp behind it, I will likely look for some 12” cubbies to fill the rest of the space. Anywho… I’m 3 days in, I will update this if anything comes up. I am using this frame along with a Nectar mattress. (Size: Full). Hope my review helps. (Edit #1: Spelling!) ... show more

  • Exceded all my expectations. Really a great simple bed frame
Style: Standard Size: Full Color: Natural
We needed a bed in a hurry for holiday guests, and had a pretty low budget and low expectations. I wanted something made out of solid wood rather than veneer. I was willing to pay more for this than what we ended up paying. It seemed a bit too good to be true at the price, but I didn't have time to labor over it and so just pulled the trigger. It arrived just 2 days later and made me smile the minute I opened the (heavy) box. The quality of the wood and the construction and the finish were all pleasing. The attention to detail is especially impressive. All the pieces are clearly marked, and the hardware comes in a perfectly organized clear package, with the fasteners neatly separated by category. There's even a category for spare parts! You're covered if you drop a screw or washer into a heating duct or it becomes a cat toy. They even include a small ratchet, in addition to the obligatory Allen wrench, to speed the process. Instructions are clear; you'll probably just have to glance at them and then the whole process becomes self-explanatory. The designers went out of their way to make assembly intuitive. They installed the threaded inserts so that you'll have easy clearance for installing the screws no matter what order you start in. I'm used to shaking my fist at the clouds and screaming at companies for hiring brain-damaged industrial designers But I found myself smiling through the entirely assembly process. It's obviously not a piece of high-end furniture. But it doesn't pretend to be. It's a minimalist, unpretentious, well-made bed frame, that I can imagine could outlast me. If I ever pass it on to someone else, it will be easy to disassemble and easy for the next person to figure out. And it looks great. A couple of very minor complaints: the slats are not as nicely finished as the rest of the bed. They're a little rough. And the instructions could be a little clearer on how to unroll these onto the frame. It looks obvious, but if you get it wrong, you'll end up wrestling with some industrial strength velcro to undo it and start over. Finally, there are strips of "non-slip tape" on two of the slats, to keep your mattress from sliding around. They're basically a tacky adhesive. I'm not sold on the need for this. And if there's a need, I'm not sold on this solution. Who knows what that adhesive is going to do over time. I may cover it back up again. ... show more

  • For cost high quality and not cheap
Style: with Wood Headboard Size: Queen Color: Rustic Pine
This was a great experience. It seems like the bigger brand companies have started getting cheaper and cheaper with even using a lot of plastic for the hardware. This was the opposite. All the hardware was metal including mostly built in metal connnections to receive the bolts. It came with a ratchet to make assembling easier instead of the standard Allen wrench. The hardware was very clearly labeled and even the bed pieces were labeled with numbers so you know what piece connect to which piece and where. Another nice touch- the styrofoam in the box came wrapped in plastic so it did not make a mess in the house. For future furniture purchases I am going to check zinus before the big box stores in the future. ... show more

  • Very easy to assemble
Style: Standard Size: Queen Color: Rustic Pine
I've assembled a lot of furniture, but this was the easiest of them all. The instructions were large and very clear. No parts were missing or misaligned, and the whole process took less than an hour by myself (76 yr. old female). The packaging was the best I've seen. My only disappointment was the color. The rustic pine appeared to be brown - which is what I wanted - but is actually very orange. Luckily the only thing that will show is the bottom of the legs so it'll be fine. I don't have my mattress yet, but there is some flex when you push down on the slats, so I'm hoping that doesn't allow it to sag. ... show more
