Short version: My wife and I have had this mattress for over a year now and can say with confidence that it was an excellent purchase- it is still firm and has no sags or dips. I highly recommend it. I have held off on writing a review for this mattress because I felt it was necessary to sleep on it for an extended period of time to give it the most fair and accurate review. My wife and I purchased this mattress over a year ago, in November 2017. After going to all the local stores, from big box to mom and pop, my wife and I found ourselves with a problem: we could tell which mattresses were soft and which were firm, but aside from that we didn't really feel much difference apart from the price tag- almost all of which exceeded a thousand dollars, with some approaching two grand. That's quite an outlay of cash. So, going off reviews on Amazon we took the leap on this Zinus Extra Firm iCoil 12 inch king mattress. We also purchased a steel foundation upon which to set the mattress in our bed frame. The box arrived a little beat up, but my wife and I muscled it into the house and carried it upstairs together. It's a two person job, but not impossible. We set the rolled up mattress on our guest bed and carefully cut away the plastic so the bed would unroll. (Pro tip: Don't stand between the mattress and the wall. You might get pinched) We followed the directions and let the mattress sit undisturbed for 2 or 3 days so it could fully expand. After which time, we moved it into our bedroom. It's now more than one year on and I feel qualified to report on the mattress. It is firm, but not rock hard. This is obviously subjective, so all I can say is that you know a firm mattress when you lay on one, and this is a firm mattress but is still comfortable. I'm a side and stomach sleeper, and my wife is a back sleeper. I'm 5'11", 230lbs, and we'll just say that my wife is plus sized and leave it at that. The mattress supports both of us fine, and a year later has no depressions, dips, sags or problem areas. The last time I did laundry I snapped some photos of the mattress which I have posted above. You'll notice the mattress is still even and flat, even after a year of nightly use. I purchased this mattress myself, with my own money, have no relationship with the manufacturer, and am receiving nothing in return for writing this review. I just know how difficult it is take the leap of purchasing something like this over the internet, so I thought I'd write a review to help people in a similar situation my wife and I found ourselves in last year. This mattress was an excellent purchase, I've recommended it to friends, and if you're in the market for a fairly priced firm mattress, I can recommend it to you as well. Cheers. ... show more

After about a month, I am happy with this mattress. I was honestly about ready to drop $2000 on a Saatva mattress, buy then I saw people on Reddit talking about how even those mattresses can have problems after a few years. If I spend a huge chunk of money on something, I want it to last many years. This mattress is a great price for King size. I don't expect it to last more than a few years, or less, but it's fine for now. The edge support is obviously lacking, it's noticeable when you sit on the edge of the bed. But you are paying for a mattress to sleep on, not something to sit on. I was about ready to get rid of my king size bed set, because king size mattress prices are crazy. I almost bought a Dreamcloud mattress, and I almost bought a Nectar mattress. But everyone says those only last a couple years. So I settled for this. I'm happy I went this route. In a couple years I'll probably upgrade, but I have other priorities with my finances at the moment. I am 6'4" 190lbs and this mattress feels great for me. I would probably be happier if it was more firm, but it's quite comfy and has good support. The setup process was easy, even by myself with a king size. La primera noche durmiendo en el, luego de 48 horas abierto, se sentia muy flojo, poco firme sobre todo en las esquinas y bordes. luego de 15 dias de uso el colchón era un desastre total, se hundia en el medio, las esquinas super flojas, me despertaba todas las mañanas con un dolor de espalda como si estuviera durmiendo en una hamaca. contacte al servicio al cliente de zinus por un correo que ponen en su web y nunca recibi respuesta, contacte al servicio de cliente de amazon y muy amablemente me ofrecieron el reemplazo, y debo y quiero decir que cambie mi calificación de 2 a 5. luego que llego el colchón nuevo y dejarlo 72 horas para que expandiera, comenzamos a usarlo y la diferencia es notoria, entendí que tuvimos mala suerte y sencillamente el primer colchon llego dañado, porque este nuevo es una maravilla, es un colchon firme, fuerte, robusto, comodo y muy confortable. asi que primero felicitar a atencion al cliente de Amazon que hizo un excelente trabajo al oir mi queja sobre el primer colchon y mandar el reemplazo, y de verdad les digo, compren este colchon sin dudarlo, es una excelente inversion para sus sueños y su espalda!! ... show more

Have had this mattress for about 3 weeks. It is pretty solid. I am a big dude (6’1 260lbs). I like the support. It’s not the softest but it’s about a 7/10. No complaints. I will say that I ordered the 12in King size and this is no where near 12in. At best it’s about 10in in the middle.

Was skeptical, needed a firm nursery bed for me and the baby. Can't remember why I settled for this one, but I am 100 percent pleased. I have been sleeping on it for 3 months and often I bring the baby in with me. This bed is firm. I was nervous when I saw the pillow top, but it's firm and doesn't swallow u in. I hope when I redo my room after 6 months this brand has a queen available. It also came folded in a box so I was really nervous. I'm completely satisfied. Not one complaint. No chemical smell like other brands. I hope everyone has a similar experience that I have had. I bought this in March I think in preparation for my newborn.
