    • Zino Davidoff has definitely changed
I saw this again online after not having used it for many years. It took 2 weeks to get it from Amazon. I was quite excited and anticipating this and reliving the memories of what used to be a very nice scent. It finally arrived. I couldn't wait to get the box opened. The bottle is definitely a larger bottle with 4.2 oz of EDT Zino Davidoff. I sprayed twice and noticed the opening was quite a bit more harsh than I recall it being. It stayed rather harsh for about 1 hour or more before mellowing at all. I smelled again a few hours later and was surprised the it never did mellow and provide the nice scent that I recall so well. It had a bit of a harshness to it that I can't quite identify. I don't have my original large bottle anymore, but I was able to find a factory small decant of the original Zino fragrance. It was noticeable when I applied the original. It was not as harsh and had a smoother, more refined scent. The dry down and pleasant scent came much quicker with the original than the new bottle I received. I don't think its just a matter of Davidoff using more alcohol with the reformulation. There are changes which are easily detected between the original and this reformulation. Not sure when that occurred. I wont deny that I am disappointed. There is a similarity to the original Davidoff Zino but its enough difference to be noticeable. Please not that the scent is not what I would call bad, it's just not quite as smooth and refined as it once was. The scent does seem to have a lot of longevity. If you aren't familiar with Zino, go easy. Try ONE spray at first. Let your olfactory (sense of smell) adjust. I wouldn't recommend spraying the EDT and taking a big whiff. Maybe try spraying one spray on a shirt collar or the chest area of your shirt and let it mellow for 30 minutes. This is an acquired scent that does last. More than 2 sprays and it would be too potent for most people. If you got used to it and didn't notice the scent, trust me when I say, others will, and you WILL be hated. Loved this product when it was available to purchase years ago. May be able to buy in NewYork currently but not in my area. I’m concerned it is old stock as I checked the code on the box. Giving as a gift so I hope it hasn’t turned. Probably won’t by this type of product online again.
