I bought another corset just like this from another seller, and you know how crazy the size charts here are.. this is no exception. I’ve ordered two corsets in 4XL because of my waist size. (37”), and I should have ordered a 5XL for this one. It’s super tight, and I had to really loosen the ribbon in the back to get it to work. What I will say is that the ribbon is a much shorter length on this corset than on the other one I bought, which I think is much better. I don’t get having them be super long. It’s a simple corset. However, I followed the size chart and my corset is too loose, I’m a size 16 I took a 4x I could have gone with a 2x to get it more snug and snatched. Originally I bought this cause I love casually dressing as a pirate for every day activities, but I added it to my full pirate costume at a Halloween pot luck and got so many compliments! The corset came with a back panel to make the strings not hurt as much on the back but I cut it off because I found it uncomfortable. I have a smaller chest so the corset didn’t hurt there but I could see it might hurt for people with bigger chests. Order 2 or even 3 sizes up! I am usually a Large I’m 5’6” at 160lbs, but I got an XXL. There is about 3 inches of extra room you can loosen so the the ties in the back, but if you don’t want to do that than definitely order 3 sizes up from what you originally are. Also mine did not have a hard ‘W’ like curve to the top of it for under my ‘underbust’ like I was hoping it was in the picture. It’s not as defined as I wish it was curvature wise. I’m usually am a large in clothes. I order both XL and L. The Xl was a little small so I didn’t even bother with the L (The back was showing about 4 inches or the cross cross lace which traditionally you wouldn’t see). I Definitely recommend sizing one or two sizes up. Pretty cute and flattering. Defiantly sucks you in. Clips are cheap so annoying but all in all great for price.
