I bought this for a 12' kayak, description said up to 13' so I figured there would be 6 or so inches at the bow and stern. Well, there are easily 18" both fore and aft. The straps that are supposed to secure the cover don't work since the cover is so huge, the straps are useless. I hope my photos can show how huge this cover is, it just drapes over the kayak. There is no way I would feel comfortable traveling with this cover as I believe it would just blow off no matter how well I secured it. As I store the yak on the hooks, I have to strap the cover and bungee cord it just to try to keep the weather out. I don't have high hopes of this cover keeping the weather out. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of zero was because the fabric seems to be fairly decent that appears to be water repellant. Would I buy again? No, I would not. ... show more
