Features

  • 2LBS Clay Pebbles for Plants: You will receive 1 bag of 2LBS clay balls, each ball is about 4mm-16mm, which are ideal reptile bedding for most reptiles like tortoise, frogs, snakes, turtles, lizards, etc. and also suitable as a growing medium for tropical plants.
  • 100% Natural Clay Balls: Made of 100% natural clay baked at high temperatures, non-toxic and odorless. The exterior is hard and unbreakable, and the interior honeycomb structure makes the leca balls lightweight, breathable, moisturizing and drainage. So you can use them for reptiles with confidence!
  • Keeping Good Humidity : The porous structure of clay pebbles can create a natural aquifer that absorbs and slowly releases excess water, effectively maintaining humidity in the aquarium. And the clay pebbles can also be as a base layer underneath the terrarium to create underground water table, providing a good substrate for growing plants in naturalistic terrariums.
  • Odor and Waste Absorber: Our clay balls substrate can break down odor, waste and absorb it, providing reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates a clean, comfortable and healthy living environment. Clay pebbles can be used many times by rinsing.
  • Wide Application: For clay balls, rinse before use to get cleaner clay balls, then use them directly into the terrariums as a drainage layer for natural substrates. The clay ball can also be added to a water pump creates a waterfall with the flow of water, which can provide optimal filtration as well as a great viewing experience. It can also be as growing medium for plants. Which can absorb water and nutrients and release them slowly for root absorption, thus promoting better plant growth.

  • Clay balls, not just for reptiles
Color: 2LBS
I used these clay balls in glass containers to propagate plant cuttings. I think they reduce root rot and help the water stay in good condition while rooting. Once the roots are established the balls can be rinsed, dried, and reused. They can also be used in terrariums and around potted plants. They absorb excess water and help keep the plats healthy. I recommend. ... show more

  • Great as drainage in a flower pot
Color: 2LBS
I have a couple of flower pots that are pretty but don't necessarily drain as quickly as I'd like. To prevent plant roots in there from sitting in water, I wanted to put something in the bottom under the soil. These work GREAT for that. They aren't heavy, so don't add as much weight as filling with gravel/rocks would. I also use these to hold orchid roots in their pots. Gives just enough for the roots to tuck around and grab on without being heavy or unwieldy. The expanded clay does absorb water well, though it doesn't hold it for all that long - especially when this is all you've got in there. This product arrived in a bag, packaged just like you might pick up at a store. No weird smells or anything suspicious. Just light weight clay balls. ENJOY! ... show more

  • Neat balls, no dust
Color: 6LBS
I used these expanded clay balls in the base of a DIY wicking bed. They seem very suitable for this use. They won't compress, so water will be able to stay in the free spaces, plus beneficial bacteria can grow on the surface, hopefully!

  • Not what I expected...
Color: 2LBS
Ordered these hoping they would be a good substrate for my indoor water plant. Boy was I wrong. I guess "expanded" clay means lots of air bubbles? Even then, I was hoping they would soak up the water and sink. NOPE. So that's a huge bust (which is mostly my bad for not researching it, so I won't hold this against them in my rating, but I still felt I should mention it.) They came very dusty, and I had to rinse them a whole lot before the water ran clear. They are also a lot bigger than I had imagined, and a some of them had broken/exposed edges. One of the more unpleasant things about this, was that the balls are not uniform in shape at all whatsoever. Some are more spherical-ish shaped, but a whole lot are blobs... that kinda look like poop... like maybe the machine putting these out had some issues with consistency and uniformity... which is a shame since the product picture shows nice round balls that would have looked pleasant in other applications since they didn't work how I had hoped. If you are using them as substrate for your amphibian, know that they ARE very lightweight pebbles. And the color would look nice in a terrarium. If you don't care about the shapes, then this would also work well for you. I just can't really give it higher than a 3 star with the unappealing pebble shapes and broken edges. If I were using these for any application, I would want it to be functional AND athetically pleasing. ... show more

  • Great for Paludarium, but a Bit Dusty
Color: 2LBS
These clay balls work great for my paludarium. They serve their purpose well, although I noticed they can be a bit dusty. Overall, they're a good choice for reptile substrate.

  • Great for hydro
Color: 2LBS
I got these and then realized how big these 6" netcups actually are. this filled about 2 of them. They're fine for some DWC tote setup.

  • Big clay pebbles
Color: 2LBS
It actually bigger size than I expected. When it arrived I rinse it with water to remove the dirt. I put it in my turtle tank and also for my plants. It’s bigger than I expected but it still work fine. It doesn’t make the water dirty. It works well as drainage for my succulents as well, but just too big in size. It will work well with bigger plants. ... show more

  • Great for reptile tanks
Color: 2LBS
I was redoing my geckos tank and needed to make the layer of clay balls deeper. These were perfect! The new arrangement looks great and my plants are thriving.
