  • Great ball python substrate
Easy to use, this coco chunk substrate hold moisture really well in the lower layers allowing the top to be on the dry side while keeping stable humidity in my python enclosures.

  • Great!
Got my money worth. Didn't expect 10lbs to be more than I needed. Which is awesome I have extra for changing bed when needed. Definitely a good buy.

  • 10 lbs expands a lot.
I’m using to mix with my potting mix to create a chunky mix. Very compact and it expands a lot!!

  • Chunks are cut inconsistently and full of hard pieces.
Inconsistent chunks make it unusable. I was looking to use this for my plants but the chunks are cut poorly and aren’t like other brands I have purchased in the past. I did also find white mold in the packaging. Since I already started to mix it with other things I can’t really return it but I was disappointed with the quality of this product. ... show more

  • Good bedding

  • Would Not Recommend For Animals
The only upside to this coco chip is none of the blocks I got had much dust. Other than that the quality is down hill. I freeze all my blocks for at least 72 hours in the deep freezer to kill anything off. This usually works for woodmites ect. But this substrate kept producing these little white moths (even after freezing). The final straw for never using this substrate again was the dye they use. The dye leeches out very easy causing some lighter royals like my banana combos and pastel butter combos to look dirty and stained. As well as staining a water bowl after a single piece fell in for a few hours. I would NOT recommend this for ANY animal at all. ... show more

  • I do not recommend this for reptiles
This was the most confusing substrate I have ever seen. There is Lots in this ten pound block. You're supposed to add water to it to make it expand. Which is all well and good, but it doesn't say that on the package. Nor does it say it on the website. I had to look it up. Way too much dust and powder. After almost a week of trying to figure it out. I think I finally did. But I Will not be purchasing this again for my Reptiles. Although I do think that this would be perfect for substrate for your plants As a substitute for mulch. Or to just add to you're existing compost. As a mulch This is definitely worth the money. For my reptiles I don't think so. ... show more
