I use them for ball pythons and hermit crabs. No dyes or chemical. Smells earthy. I cut them up into 8 or 4 squares. I use a jig saw to cut it. You get alot when wetting this stuff down and I mean alot. It expands way more than coconut fiber bricks. Will buy again.

My Leopard gecko loves this, a little goes a long way,, when I got it it seems so small, but as soon as you get it wet it expands, so break off a small amount at a time to keep from wasting it.

The media could not be loaded. I use this for my carnivorous plants. They tend to love it. There's a few twigs that usually come in it, but it's fine. You could just pick it out other than that.It's a great product.

Was a little worried reading some comments, but happy I did buy. I would say having a 120 gallon tank and a 75 gallon, I still have moss left. So you'll only need one of these and I sealed the rest for when I change out.

So when I bought this product I checked the weight vs volume because I am used to buying sphagnum by quarts. I actually bought another one just in case there wasn't enough. I was wrong. You get so much in this compressed brick. It takes 10minutes to expand and is very soft to the touch. Not alot of sticks and stalks inside. Pictures shows this package expanded inside a tall kitchen bag for comparison. This one package filled half of a garbage bag. Very impressed with price of this purchase. I know it’s a matter of personal opinion, but I disagree with the other reviews saying that it smells bad. Mine has an amazing “fresh forest” smell and I love it. I also know that there will be variation between batches, but what I got seems really fresh. There is a lot of natural green in it still.
