The Zebco Slingshot Spincast Reel and Fishing Rod Combo is AWESOME. We had the open face which was a disaster. The Slingshot are perfect for beginners and those who have never fished the kids loved them all 20 poles. Worth the money and very reasonable.

Very easy to use whether you are an adult or teen. Durable quality but you can tell it's not an expensive pole. Lightweight so it's easy to carry and hold. It gets the job done!

Haven’t used this particular rod yet, but it’s a Zebco. They work forever, I have been using Zebcos since I was a kid, a matter of fact I think my father and grandfather have used Zebcos way back when. You can’t ask for a better rod and real for children to begin and learn how to fish with, and you also can’t beat the price. I highly recommend if you’re looking to get into fishing or buy a fishing rod for a child, this is the one to get and by the way adults can use them too lol. ... show more

This rod and reel definitely feels like it should cost 2x - 3x the price! It cast and reels very well. The length is perfect for bank fishing or boat fishing! I plan to add more to my collection soon!

Well, I guess it's true. You get what you pay for. The rod broke at the section where it goes together in the first 3 minutes. I gave 3 stars because at least the reel is still working. It's a good rod for kids starting out but I would be careful with this because it's not the highest quality. Granted it's a 10 dollar rod and reel combo so I am not that bummed. I would however spend an extra 10-20 bucks to get a better quality combo. ... show more

Bought a bunch of these for fishing adventures with our scout pack. I personally wouldn't use these, but its a really really good pole for the money. They all made it through our first fishing trip and ready for the second.
