The floor standing tree book case is a fun and unique way to store and display books. It is great for a small area. It looks great and is made of solid wood. It is fairly easy to assemble. I was able to do it by myself in about 45 minutes. The directions were clear and not difficult to follow. For the most part, the pieces fit together well and the screw holes line up correctly. The shelf is sturdy and does come with hardware to attach it to the wall so that it won't fall. It might not be best in a house with tiny children or pets who like to climb. ... show more

The Yusong Tree Bookshelf has a love-it-or-hate-it design. Personally, I really like its rustic craft aesthetic, so I assembled one to help organize some of the books I need to have frequent reference to. Here's what you need to know: 1. It helps if you have a workbench in your garage while assembling, unless you're very facile with the included hex wrench while sitting on the floor. 2. There are a dozen planks of wood included, and most get four screws each, which means you're going to be playing with the hex wrench for quite some time. For both those reasons, you need a bit of patience and, yes, experience if you are going to put one of these together by yourself one afternoon. The instructions are very easy to understand, though. And the raw materials have decent quality. Yusong recommends that you attach the tree to a wall for additional stability. The tree itself seems sturdy enough to hold quite a few smaller books and varied stationary, but it is a bit wobbly when its free-standing. A weighted base could have helped solve this problem just as well as mounting to the wall. For this reason, I would not recommend storing any heavy hardcover college textbooks or coffee table books on this tree, and I certainly am not going to fill any of the shelves to capacity. (Personally, I don't like the look of any overstuffed bookcase, but this tree has balance concerns that I don't wish to risk). I've placed mine in a corner where it is unlikely to get in anybody's way. The tree bookshelf won't fit in with everyone's sense of interior design, but you will already know if it's suitable from the photos. I took me a a good almost 2 hours to get this completely assembled. Only because I made a lot of mistakes and had to redo several parts. That being said I am Not a handy person and if I was able to figure out how to assemble this anyone can. ** Be sure to use the allen wrench provided as they give you alien screws that only fit with the allen wrench end not the Philips head end.
