    • Tuning not accurate
Right out of the box, I checked the 9 notes. Here's what they were: G3 196Hz, D4 296Hz, Eb4 313Hz, F4 354Hz, G4 393Hz, A4 445Hz, Bb4 475Hz, C5 533Hz, D5 604Hz. Notice it's A=445Hz, not 440Hz or 432Hz. Not a problem for me if all notes are in tune with one another. But notice for yourself the octaves D4 and D5. Since they are octaves, D5 should be exactly twice the frequency of D4 for the notes to be in tune. On my handpan D4 is 296Hz and D5 is 604Hz which sounds out of tune with the D4 (to be in tune it should be 592Hz if D4 is 296Hz). The tuning is good enough for me to enjoy playing the instrument, which is why I gave it 3 stars. However, the imprecise tuning (especially the D octaves) means I won't be using this for recordings. ... show more

Hand drum is smaller, has good tone for its size, and can be had for a decent price I have played it alone and in support of my larger d minor hang drum. It accompany my other hang drum well. Pleased with my purchase.

Nice handpan. Sounds good. I use my hands but does come with little drum sticks. I recommend that if you do use the sticks Do not hit it hard as it will damage your handpan. I had to try the sticks and did notice that it sounds very clear (louder)but i play without them. Comes with little stand and cleaning cloth. The best thing i like is that i like to play my handpan everywhere i go and this is the perfect size to travel with.
