  • Brilliant Explanation of YNAB
Jesse Mecham takes time to give an in-depth explanation of the Four Rules of YNAB. Each chapter I finished made me feel more confident that mastering YNAB is where I should be investing my time. Mecham’s writing style is endearing. His book is filled with heartfelt stories of YNABers confronting challenges and achieving inspiring victories. It is hard to put down, and easy to read with brilliant summaries that close each chapter. I would love to give this book and a subscription to family and friends. There is nothing more poignant than to hear Mecham answer so many of my questions and offer such a fun solution. ... show more

  • Pure Motivation
"Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow." Proverbs 13:11 This book is great motivation for budgeting the YNAB way. This book goes more into the philosophy and psychology of YNAB; the how and why it works. This is not a how-to manual on how to use the software. Instead, it talks about the big picture of what the YNAB system is and how it has helped people. This book was a delight to read. My favorite aspect of it is how it emphasized how the YNAB system reduces psychological stress and anxiety in your life, giving many examples of this. I could literally feel stress and anxiety lifting from my shoulders as I read the pages of this book. If you find budgeting boring or scary, this is the perfect book for you because it gets you totally psyched. ... show more

  • A new way thinking about money and budgeting.
BLUF: A new way of thinking about money and budgeting. This book reads how you would expect a book on budgeting to read. It is the new approach to budgeting (to me at least) that I found so refreshing. I've only been following the book's advice for a few weeks now, so it might be too early to write a review on the process; however, I can say it is definitely the book is worth the read. The thing that has stuck with me the most is the difference between forecasting and budgeting. I've been using the free trial of the app as well, and am planning on continuing for the foreseeable future. ... show more
