Description

Made from 130, 000 PSI Ductile Iron, the Yost Vises ADI-6 is both lightweight and strong. These vises are designed for durability and longevity. The body is 4 times stronger than cast iron vises and 50% stronger than the previous Forged Steel Vise (FSV) Series. This extra strength means more clamping force for demanding projects. The Ductile Iron Vise is lightweight without compromising clamping force. As the only manufacturer in the world to build vises out of ADI, Yost Vises is proud to say that this is the toughest vise you will buy. The Vise features a 360-degree Swivel Base with two lock downs.

This vise is impressive. It is pretty well made. There was one little spot of rough casting between the machined anvil surface and the back of the vise head but this is really being hyper critical and was cosmetic only.     • 7" Forged Steel Vise
This vise opens really wide, rated for use at 9 inches. Nothing is more disappointing than having a vice that won't open up wide enough for what you want to hold. The screw has a thick square thread and does not have much lost travel. The handle only moves about 1/8 of a turn before the jaw moves. The jaws meet up perfectly without any side or up and down play. The play is controlled by a hardened triangular gib that can be adjusted by two hex set screws on the side of the vise. Being made from forged steel and welded together is a good indication of strength. The T shape of the movable jaw allows you to clamp some odd shaped items that bulker vises could not. The hardened pipe jaws are replaceable and can also be removed for more clearance if desired. The hardened jaw faces can also be replaced. This vise weights 57 pounds and the warranty is 5 years. ... show more
