This was not a give-away to install, then it wasn't impossible either. The alarm setting section could have been clearer. At the end though the Hub can be set anywhere indoors using router wi-fi or ethernet cat 5 cable. The hub communicates with the sensor at the mailbox using its own "LORA" proprietary protocol which reaches through walls, electronics and a football field and every time my mailbox is opened I get an email (using the internet in my home) and my phones gives a little buzz-vibrate type response. absolutely perfect. I have had my mailbox set up with a door sensor for over a week now. I couldn’t be more pleased. Downloading the YoLink app to my iPhone and setting up the ‘Hub’ and the door sensor was not difficult but took me an hour or so for me as I am not particularly computer savvy. The hub itself supports all the remote sensors of which I currently have only the mailbox door sensor hooked up. I was pleased to find out that signal from my mailbox, that is about 175 feet from the hub, had no problem going through a small stand of trees and two walls of my ranch house to reach it. Using one of the options available to me, I set it up so that when the mailbox door is opened, I get an email that that has happened. This happens just about instantaneously, in addition to that, if you go to the YoLink app on your phone, it has logged the date and the time of each door opening, also instantaneously. While I did have a few technical questions for Customer Service, I could not believe just how responsive they were to my emails. My questions were answered quickly (less than a day) and were not cookie cutter answers, they actually addressed my few questions, one by one, in a way that was easy to understand. Truthfully, I have never had better customer service from any company. One of my questions had to do with the temperature range that the sensor can operate at since I live in Maine, and the temperature can get down to zero in the dead of winter. The specifications I found on-line said it was good to 32 degrees F. They explained that if use lithium batteries, (not the rechargeable type) it would be good to go down to minus 4 degrees. The Yolink series of IOT sensors are based on LoRa which gives you very good range and much lower possibilities of interference. I pretty much have every one of the YoLink devices and except for one time when they had a server issue they have been super reliable and work well with my Alexia.

I only just installed this, so only time will tell how it holds up with battery life and consistency in motion detection and notifications. I purchased this to replace my Samsung Smart Homes devices since those have been discontinued. I travel for work and therefore I am always living in someone else’s place, ie always renting a place that’s not mine and always living somewhere that a landlord or other party has keys to. I live alone, and since I’m a women, that comes with added anxieties about winding up with a creep of a landlord or what have you. I wanted this system for nothing more than getting a push notification for if my door is opened while I’m not home, so I can be wary reentering my place. It works perfectly for that! Set up was incredibly easy from start to finish, the app is easy to navigate and pairing the device was smooth. So far the notifications have come consistently every time the door is open, and immediately upon the door opening. I’m pleased! Especially for the price ... show more

    • Yolink Customer Support is excellent -- problem working with Apple iphone 13 watch installed.

I installed the Yolink door sensor, hub, and a speaker and hub. I configured the alarm strategy to perform a critical alert (audible on my Apple iphone13). Everything worked except the audible alert on my phone. Sometimes it would work for hours then quit working for some time. I called tech support and Leah answered. She spent over an hour troubleshooting the problem and was very patient. Together we determined that the problem was in the iphone. I spent some time searching on the internet and found that this problem occurs sometimes with the apple watch installed. The solution is to unpair and pair the Apple watch.
