We got this piece for game storage, and it gets opened and closed often, doors slammed, the dog bangs into it during zoomies. It's holding up great! Because of the open shelving, it holds a lot without feeling huge in the room as well.

I bought this to use as a bookcase / display shelf for my daughter’s room, and it has some pros and cons: Packaging: 5 stars for being very well packaged! Not only was it encased is styrofoam in the box, it also had plastic corner protectors so the edges didn’t get smashed in during shipping. The company also made sure everything was very clearly labeled (see pics) so there was no guessing what piece went where. This was better than I’ve seen in most shipped furniture, and I was impressed. Assembly: Not great and 3 stars. All of the metal pieces seemed fine and lined up as they should, but the included screws were a bad fit for the holes. I could only get maybe 3 screws out of 30 to be flush with the metal as most would only go so far and stuck out (see pic). I almost stripped the included screwdriver trying to get them flush. It also made the whole thing very wobbly, yikes! I finally gave in and went to Walmart and got smaller sheet metal screws (#6 x 1/2”) that fit better and washers (1/8” x 3/4”) to keep the smaller screw heads from going through the hole. You’ll need about 35 each, and you can also get them on Amazon. (My best guess is the outer larger holes would have worked with the original screws, but the inner holes were too small. I am not a handyman, though, so hopefully someone more experienced can explain.) After replacing all the original screws with the new screws and washers (see pic), everything is very solid and no longer wobbles. Whew! Design: We’ll say 4 stars because overall it looks great and seems to function well, but I’m not crazy about the exposed screw heads inside the cabinet. Seems like things could get caught on them or hands scratched. I’ll probably try to find something to cover them, like tape or erasers. I’m giving it 4 stars overall, but some might give it 3 if they have to replace original parts to make it work. In any case I hope this helps anyone struggling with assembly! ... show more

I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but honestly assembly was a breeze- until we got to the doors. One thing to note is in order for the doors to lock the piece B needs to be put on a certain direction. Check that before installing and you won’t have a single issue. The screws were perfect, the packaging and labels were PERFECT. Directions weren’t bad, just weren’t super detailed but the only piece that really mattered that you can’t discern from the directions is piece B. Took forever to find a decent bookshelf that had a locking mechanism and I am so happy I waited and found this piece. Perfect addition to our office. ... show more

    • Poorly Manufactured- Screws Don't Fit Appropriately

The manufacturing seemed carelessly done, especially when it came to the alignment of the screws and the drilled holes in the bookshelf boards. In the package provided, the screws labeled as "O type" were oversized for the holes, leading to significant difficulty during assembly. Attempting a workaround, I decided to take advice from another user's review and tried replacing the original screws with a smaller set. However the alternative screws only worked for some of the pre-drilled holes. The finished product is 4 stars because the doors are not matching up. The assembly is 1 star due to missing hardware, pre-drilled holes were wrong size, and unclear directions. The base the castors attach to was missing 2 of its screws. See picture attached. I went ahead and built the shelf knowing it will be somewhat unstable but I won't be moving this around too much. The small holes that the 30-some small screws were supposed to screw in were too small. I read mixed reviews that other people had to buy extra screws and washers to make it work and suggested the size of the screws. I was hoping this would not happen to me... It did. I was impatient and did not want to lose momentum. I got my drill out and drilled bigger holes for the screws. I was going strong until my last 3 holes that needed redrilling before my drill bit broke. I ended up getting a new drill bit. If you have 5/32" drill bit, you're set for success. After all was said and done, I could not get the doors on because one of the very first pieces you attach to the sides had a specific direction it needed to go in. I reviewed the instructions and they did not make note of which way that part had to go in, so you will have a 50/50 shot of getting it right or getting it wrong.... I was wrong, of course. So I had to put it back on its back side again, remove all four casters, and remove the side panels that the casters attached to. Please see picture above for an idea of what that panel looks like. And then I had to unscrew the bottom panel from the inside of the cabinet so I could remove that particular bracket looking piece that allows the door to attach. And then rescrew everything in again! Would I buy again? Maybe - especially now that I know what I know. ... show more
